That would be speedy metal 2. Actually, speedmetal was inspired by that map. It was so shitty that runecrafted took it and remade it into the speedmetal that is today. Heh...that thing gave out like 112 metal per mex.bamb wrote:There was some speed metal inspired map where the ground was very soft, that some people insisted on playing. End result for me:
Speedmetall has 1000 DLs on FU -
Moderator: Moderators
I made wide open combat and it has over 1000 downloads
I remember when I first released it I told mother that it would be a curse because I knew it would be very popular but I made it in only a couple of hours (compared to the huge amount of time I put into other maps). Anyways, I'm glad I no longer see it being played so much

I refer you to a previously established remark, made by yours truly:In other words, these players don't count. For anything. They might as well not even be there, since they aren't playing the same game as the rest of us. I really mean that - if you play Speedmetal, don't play it with AA.
And it is. Very much so. You have NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to dictate how others play the game. Not one right. It is not your place to say what map someone else can or cannot play. If you believe otherwise, you are a stuck-up snobby piece of shit, and I hold absolutely no respect for you at all. I hold a higher respect/opinion towards the garbage I just took out, and that's for real. For you to feel -- IN THE LEAST BIT -- that you should have some sort of control over what maps other people play, lol, that's insanely arrogant. And shallow-minded.
Massively for real.

WTF is your problem? Maybe you should go look up the word "Hypothetical" at dictionary.comnfekti0n wrote:I refer you to a previously established remark, made by yours truly:In other words, these players don't count. Look Nfection, Forboding has done more for the mapping scene then anyone else. He has GRACIOUSLY offered to managed the Spring area of fileuniverse. I am sorry that you some how have gotten a sudden interest in flaming people and trying to make a statement. Now, me personally I think you need to consider who you are talking to.nfekti0n wrote:It seems your reading comprehension is nil. Try analyzing the message behind what I quoted in the beginning of my post; maybe it'll brighten things up a tad for you.
I can say this, he will be around still helping the mapping community and you will be gone before anyone cares about the loss of your presence. I sincerely hope you take a tall glass of attitude check and get some rest. It will make things clearer for you.
The Idea is to make a Complexe Verions of Speedmetall, let it look like SM (Maybee even on the Minimap;), name it like Speednnetal - even give it the Same Description and Screenshots as SM - and use it as a kind of trap. Some Kind of Map Equivalent to Methadon, to bring the Junkies down slow.
1 of 10 of the SM Players who join this Map .. will learn to love the Game as it`s meant to be - the rest will quit -one way or the other...
Deleting Maps is no Solution - even if it would help to provoke nfektion further... The Players should have the Decision.. but you can only make a Decision - if you really know all the Options...

it was only a hypothetical question... Honestly speedmetal is just eating up unneccary bandwidth from FU (which is provided for free, so really nfektion you have absolutely no say in the matter).
I do think that deleting crap content would fall under the category of abusing my "power" at FU, which is why I havn't.
When I made the shore to shore remake I did delete the original, simply because of the sync error issues it was causing. It looked like poo and had horrible metal distribution anyway, so I didn't feel too bad.
BTW I prolly need to make a post about this in the maps forum but I was too tired to do it last night.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of playing Comet Catcher Remake yesterday, so whilke I was rendering terrain today I fixed it and reuploaded it under a new version number.
The things I fixed were, the fog and water showing up when a comm blew up. NOIZE meant well, but he set the fog start at .001 which means that the fog started showing up an inch from the ground. I changed it so that there was absolutely no fog.
The water showing up when comm dies just boggled me. I assume noize just made a typo, because the waterline on CCR was set at -20, which would Raise the waterline... I reset the height to 620 max, and 120 minimum. You shouldn't see water on that map anymore. It's a cool remake and I hated to see it go down like that.
I'm about to fix river dale's fog now as well.

Fsck it, Caydr should just suck it up and make an "excessive overkill" mutator for AA. Unlimited metal, pure superunits, cheap superunits - a mod just made for people who love Krog spam. Then the speedmetal freaks could play their demented game on any map.Deathblane wrote:You're overestimating the abilities the people who play speedmetal.
