The wiki states diffrently:

so Journier won from Dinied, who gained the title for free.
But you are a lousy king if you don't show up...

And for how long are you not able to reach your own computer?
you do know why Heze gave the title away. If you're not able to play Spring for a large amount of time (say more then several days) you should stand away from the throne and reclaim it when you're back. (hopefully with crown images!)

i was gone for 1 day, less than 24 hours actually.

thats not a large amount of time

noone has challenged me before that day. deal with it.

im back now and waiting on davethe brave, hes not in the lobby...

When I was the king none of such this nosense happened every tournament was hosted in a reliable host and maps greater than 12*12 were not allowed... but the king was defeated and the evilt took the place of the throne.. :shock:

agh.. well agree, not metalfest/huge/known bugged maps should be allowed.

I will be proposing a list of good 1v1 maps, for the challengers to refer if they like.

btw paulada, i recall you this.

If i ban speedmetal, there are still maps like CPIA, Maze concept and other highmetal maps. Ban all metal maps? What about Metalheck? What about that map that has a high metal cocentration at one point? Is that a metal map?

Then it escelates to complaining about settings...





And besides, if we got some novice takeing over the crown on a metal map, next player in line will offcourse win on a normal map without much effort.


And a real King SHOULD master all terrains and conditions.

And i have given another explenation before...
But i hate d-gun limit/com continues/com ends/metal maps...

I implemented that so that the challenger may stand a chance bye playing on his own turf. If you don't like it and refuse to play you have to hand over the crown. I'm am not ready to shut out 40% of spring just because some might not like the settings others play with.
Now please... we wont be able to agree on anything. No maplist will satesfy all.

If you don't like the rules, make "Lord of AA" or "President of Annhilition" or whatever qwirky name you want. I'm not stopping you. really, if you can think about a better ruleset, it should be more popular and therefore KoAA would be forgotten.

I see KoXTA ruleset is either outdated or different.
Rules

"If someone where to challenge the kings power, he will contact the King (usually bye TAClient PM) and challenge him. The challenger sets the if it's com ends or not, and if D-gun limit is on or not, and possibly Ghosted buildings if he so wishes.


The King chooses the map. Though no map extremely over 20x20 shall be chosen, since then many low end machines will be put out of game automatically and it makes a 1v1 dull and slow. Any other map, big, small, high-metal and low metal can be issued.


The Mod is always the XTA, standard edition, pimped edition is also allowed. Which version is chosen by the Challenger. The economy setting's are decided by the king(he has to use his power at some point =P).

The King has to accept all (realistic) challenges(realisticness decided by me), or resign automatically. He may postpone if it's late, he has to go, or similar incidents; but the challenger is first on the list of challenges.


The King must wear the sacred emblem of [KoXTA] at all times. Thus giving everyone a chance to see who's king and challenge him.


If the King would be defeated, he must hand over the sacred [KoXTA] emblem and reconise the new King as Ruler of all XTA. The old king can re-challenge streight away. This avoides fluke kingships :P
And will make the list for fun (and reference) anyhow.

I've made the selection taking into account 1v1 games should not be long, and never played in big maps(porcing).
Metal is not too high on any of these maps either.

Suggested maps for 1v1 Challenge. by Mongus

FIRST SELECTION

- Cliff Run+ (part of River Dale pack).

- Core Faf

- Dueling Bases+

- Icy Run

- Dueling Forts

- Foothill Basin (v2)

- Hill Haven (part of River Dale pack).

- Lava and Two Hills

- Small Divide+

- Sparewood+ (part of River Dale pack).

- Tombstone Desert (v2)

- Core Pyramid (v6) (closer starts are welcome)

- Rolling Hills (closer starts are welcome)


- Mountain Lake+ (start boxes required, borked defaults...must walk :p )

- The Cold Place (remake recommended)

- Omega

- Island Alpha+


- Gods of War

- Sands of War

- Green River


ON THE METAL LIMIT

- Blue Planet
- Brazilian Battlefield
- Karst
- Highway to skull (Beta 1)

SLOW
(but good) GAMEPLAY

- Grassy Paradox +

MAYBE TOO BIG, BUT GOOD TO TRY, GOOD DEFAULT STARTS.

- Flooded Desert

- Pincushion Remake

THE UKNOWN MAP

- Fortress+ (dare to play a map you know nothing bout its gameplay? :P)

- Marshlands (v5), is a water vs ground map, and its fine as that.


Note: Due to gameplay/balance, the smaller of the "first selection" maps' gameplay will range from "too fast gameplay" to "insane" in other mods than xta.

e: revised some maps. Its a bit wierd categories, but its ordered by sizes/best suit 1v1.
min3 CC is for 4v4, or 3v3, way too much metal/space for anything else.

Hmm, i like it. I don't think pepole should be forced to not play a map they like, but a suggestion list is always fine. I think i'm gonna add it to the wiki for good measure...


Edit: Btw, pincushion to large? it's the same size as small divide... 8x8 is hardly bordering to large, despite layout.

ugh! thanks for wiking it, now i must make it understandable :oops:

will be back on it later.

oh, and yeah some maps may be wrongly classified... but pincushion really "feels" bigger.. maybe not to be in the too big list.. but its hard to "cover" that map.
Somethihng similar happens on lava highground... its small but its intended for 2v2 (or 4ffa) and that makes the map somehow bigger.. slower/difficult to play. hills and water also make maps bigger..

will check that later too..
