I agree, that looks damn good Spiked.

Does the start of C&C Spring mean that AATA is on the wayside? I can accept and understand wanting to be finished with old works, but I'm hoping that AATA will get a bone thrown at it once in a while, since its such a great game.

Your lioght tanks look good, and true to the original, but the turret looks a bit bland, mabye consider adding a hatch or somthing on the texture (if you're using s3o) to spice things up a bit, and prehaps do similar on toher parts.

Thanks. I like to do spontaneous large amounts of work followed by two weeks of absolutely nothing. When I was working on AATA full throttle sometimes I'd model, script, texture and impliment 5 units a day... then a few weeks of nothing but Battlefield. Speaking of which, no, I probably wont be doing much work on AATA... I'm just not that interested anymore. I don't know why.

I may put a hatch on the turret or something, and it's 3DO, not 3SO - I don't want to learn UV mapping, as I know absolutely nothing about the whole process. I just go with what I know.

I'll let you know when this is ready for testing. At the moment there are only 8 units, not much to go by.

And before I go to bed...

The only thing I'd like to see in this C&C mod is proper scale.

It's not like you are limited by the engine; please scale the units, tanks and buildings with each other, atleast roughly. It will look so much better...

This is awesome! Keep up the good work, and maybe you can release a beta, just for us to fiddle around with and get enthousiastic?

Are there any plans for remaking C&C Maps?

Meh, I think this mod is one of the most nostalgic around :)

Edit: scaling would be nice, and use as high poly count as you want :)

Agree! I hate games with wrong scaling. When a human is as big as a house that sucks so much o.O.

While I agree that proper scaling would be nice, the mod just wouldn't look like C&C if the units were scaled properly.. hmm

I don't think it'd be any harm to make everything bigger in relation to the soldiers though. The fact the buildings/tanks/turrets are all similar size doesn't matter so much. It's mostly the guys that look out of scale.

I could see a mod like this really broadening Spring's appeal. If you posted a preview on some of the larger CnC websites you could get an influx of a few hundred people.

Agree on the scale thing. The tower, light tanks and the powerplants looks alittle flat imo.

This looks like it will be really great but I think the best idea for the MCV would be to have it deploy into a construction yard that you could then build constrution units with. You could make it be able to build structures itself too.
If his is what you meant then nvm :D

Oh, and remember -- I am not specifically re-creating every aspect of C&C. I am going to use TA's gameplay model of construction units building structure. Hence, the Mobile Construction Vehicle will be an actual Mobile Construction Vehicle.
