hehehe I meant to add the metal patch texture into the sd7 but I forgot... repetedly, to do it.

It's the gash texture from cavedog's "Archidesert tileset".

I'm somewhat of an ota purist. I'm not maniacal about it or anyhting, but I really like to re-represent ota in my maps. THe patch style is one way I attempt to accomplish this, the other would be the fact that I try to use the old textures from ota when I can, here and there :D

I miss ota a lot, I miss the campaigns, the music dynamically changing. THe feeling I got when playing it...

Spring will get there eventually :D Can't wait for the new gui ;P

Yep, I miss the old game, I used to love scripting missions for my own maps, pity theres no call for that skill anymore, and a greater shame more people didn`t get into it .
Come to think of it I may as well upload a few missions to FU`s TA section. :-)

I'm thinking about going back and seeing how the old TA holds up to Spring.

---A few hours late---

Yeah, it dose. It dose indeed. Im not sure if its the screen shaking, or the way the units explode or how the music works with the game...its just the feeling you get when everything 'clicks'.

Spring is just a few clicks behind though....

Aha, screen shakes, I forgot about those. Someone should add that, though with a checkbox for ti in settings.exe, that adn settings.exe should be executed after the installer ALWAYS rather than just a checkbox asking. Maybe that settings wizard could be updated with the 0.67 extras and distributed with the installer...

I know. I think screen shakes would add a lot to the "INCOMING!" effect that i loved so much...

like when you first heard a BB go off on the otherside of the map, and you go "What the hell is- OH CRAP!"

Then it hits your commander and your entire base explodes!

That reminds me of more than a few games on GOW, by no more than fifteen minutes you knew someone had a bertha, then, you start hearing that sound,, who is being hit,, oh fu*k its me,,, BOOOM..... its all over.

SO THATS THE REASON!

Thanks NOIZE. You should be spamming this all over the map forum, because a lot of people Including myself hate sd7 because it loads slowly. This explains a lot.

Well, I will pass it on the the mappers that I talk to regularly, which would include mrd and deci, and various others.

It will eventually get passed around.

I was under the impression that Spring couldn't read solid archives... Since it loads slower, I won't do it anyways, but solid archives do work after all?
