not till its done... And honestly there are hundreeds of flaws and proiblems... it looks good, but plays teribly because of the errors. Plus i need to find a way to make sky boxes out of 3d renderes... i think there must be some presets somewere but i just need to find them and make it happen.

I'm actully putting that map on hold and doing other things first (just as cool though, so stay tunded)

Anyway... what do peopel think of the XTA logo on mine? to much? or just right? Im thinking maybe do it smaller...

Also, should the shots be filtered (like the swta ones)

I think the logo would be better when it's smaller.
Also, maybe add more deph to the 'XTA', shades of grey or so.
(Maybe I may take a look at it. But I have a hard time extracting it)

Grey defeats the point of the logo, it is shining, brilliant white, whcih brigns along with it a lot of effects. Add grey and you kill the effect and it looses its appeal.

I must admit I am tempeted to make it smaller... (I have teh PSD btw, so i can do whatever is needed...)

However full screen they dont look to bad i think.

Or i could make a fully 3d logo at an angle, and add the white glow... maybe that will work...

I like your logo Agorm.

Good god, I'd forgotten that XTA still uses that hideous Krogoth model.... *shudders*... IMO that shouldn't be in any glamour shots.

Nothing against filters, they just don't make a medicore image any better. Plus the whole preconeption that filters improve the look of an image simply by being applied to it is retarded. Filters if used wizely can look good, but though shouldn't just be thrown onto an image to mask obvious flaws.

Hummm... well i did a persudo 3d version... (at work admitadly so id have to do it again...) what would you think of that? Also, if people have good screen shots at atleast 1280 x 1024, then email them to me (and dont compress then to much either, 80 jpgs or somthing) and ill add the logo (once we decide exactly which one were gonna have.)

Personly... so do I. But It's best to do several, so people can pick and chose and say what they like aboyt one and the other.

I liked the first logo better as well.
This new one, casts shadow on nothing. And to see it as the same logo only double on each other, makes no sence to me.

@Alantai: Fine, but what's wrong at soft shades of grey to add deph the 'XTA' it now suggests?

Wouldn't it be better if the XTA logo looked like the orignal TA logo? I think it should look more mechanical or something like that.
This one doesn't fit in a game full of robots and machines.

If we're going into the logo debate again, I'm going to go shit on some children, seriously.

Just make them normal xta style, no special effects,no crappy filters, no text, just dimmed with good angles inclusive of the rule of thirds.

I think it should have teh logo. Bare in mind this is teh XTA logo no the spring logo. However It is based right of the spring logo and is a simple and i think effective as it gets.

How about we run this past the SY team? See what they say. I think the logo could probablie do with being smaller, and on teh dimed side of things... I though teh engin did that, ill dim them befor i make them in future (cause i agree theye should not be bright in your face.... apart from teh logo)

hmm, for a moment there I thought this was an OTA logo discussion, but then i remembered, this isnt TA, this is XTA, and it would be demeaning to give the impression that XTA is simply an OTA port for the spring engine.

aGorms logo is fine, it's better than the current version imo, oh wait we dont have an existing XTA logo.

When Argh is finished showing off his sample mdos to showcase just what can be done without sticking to 'the conventional OTA system' then you'll think otherwise. Till then I dont think it's worth making new logos and branding mods unless your a modder or you've been asked. XTA and Spring branding is currently nogo zone.

Perhaps a poll should be put up on the frontpage saying wether we want the burgundy italic XTA, or the shiny impressive XTA from aGorm and its variations, we can ahve the word XTA in that fotn spring uses as a 3rd option.

I find the dimmed load screens to be very nice, allowing you to read the loading text, while also providing somewhat of a vista to gaze upon.

Which would makes sense, as they were instigated by the ever wise SYs.

Really, if we're going to start making logos for XTA, then I have to start making logos for XTA, and when I start making logos, THINGS DIE.

Case in point:
