Seriously flozi, if you don't like the service, don't use it. I will take S44 autohost down if you are unhappy with it. Im offended by your post, because I spent time making it work for you and helping you out.

To be fair, this is meant to be a light hearted and tongue in cheek reaction to the day I've had, where everything has failed me.

I aprpeciate the hard work done by everyone on all these aspects of Spring and for many of them, the failure is not their fault.
Applies specifically to you as you have complained about the checksum problem many times yourself.

1) weapon classes.
MissileLauncher, Cannon, EMG cannon, lasercannon(outside of when it is the straight laser). Should all share the same behaviors and just allow for different visual appearance.

2) Have to use a lobby, lua lobby is incomplete still.

3) musicvol sets max vol on next track instead of just current level.

4) map edges

5) map cutoff distance

6) los mode turning off shadows

7) minimap points bug that makes custom minimaps white out the screen.

8) units cannot fire when inside the collision of another unit.

9) several weapon classes still don't have collidefriendly=0 support.

Actually I take back 1, the engine itself is really not that frustrating any more.

Also, I like upspring. It really isn't bad. Course, i use pretty much exclusively 3ds with upspring which is a lot less painful. But yeah, like behe said, it has never crashed for me (protip, put it in a directory it can write to... giving it admin doesn't have the same effect ... weirdly), and it's always been pretty solid. The hard part of upspring is learning all it's quirks. Once you get that figured out, it's a breeze.

This big "we will help you promise" && "join moddev promise" and then, when you really ask, you get no reply. Same goes for nubs in main.

205 people, and someon asking how to start the game. Nobody fucking replys except for me, bana and eximus. Damn shame, well people who behave that way definatly dont deserve the players to play...

sorry i lurk in the nightshift ..- and yeah, you deserved a mentioning. Still the point stands. Lots of big talk, loads of silence during the slow_walk.


PS: Smoth and knorke, i guess you two know you are clear too - and the devs, well they are busy beeing devs and all, but my point is... moddev is fucking empty if you take all those people from the list.

Stop playing BAWWW, start doing it.

PS: Wouldnt it be cool, if the players themselve could tweak units.. sort of live? No more revision this revision that..

Okay, at the beginning there surely would be a bunch of lousy cheaters.. but it still would be interesting for testing purposes. Sort of outo luareload with tweak-tools.. somebody else make this.. :)

Nah, I don't lurk in either because if I am working on spring stuff I am busy. I read the gundam channel if someone has gundam issues and read #sy when I see people comment in there. Helping someone with baby's first weapon def isn't going to happen unless I see that person as worth the time investment. too many dumbasses who "want" to make their awesomewtfnoobidea and they would sap all of my productivity. it is a bit self centered to some people but in my eyes, I reserve that time for people who get stuck on real issues and try to help those. I also make sure to seek out and notify project people that I am available for help. Like you or snoop/sanada.. so I am more like an unlock I guess.

Smoth about modding talk you are rigth, i dont go to sutch extents to teach every new people some small definition that can be learned from a wiki or a tutorial. And im not a book of knowledge i help what i can.

I think picasso also mentioned about those that go into main with questions about, how to start the game, problems with widgets, cant get lobby to work, my grafics are all messed up.

A solution to this would be the creation of a thread that linked to the diferent subjects, people already had in the passed, this would be better.

As the current "Very common questions" thread in help and bugs is to short imo. We need to add more deep stuff, We need to go deeper XD

I have something about that. A special modoption to change the stats of any units from the battleroom.

KP has a modoption where you can tweak any unit before the game stats.
(actually dont know if its in KP but zwzsg did something)

This exists and anybody can add to it

1) Upspring
mirrors models, axis inverted, everything takes 3 tries to get correct

2) Lobbies
Not so much any specific lobby but the fact that there are multiple lobbies if somebody asks a question it is impossible to answers because you are on a different lobby.

3) all that download systems that never really work for me (except SL map download)

hm, actually that is the only part of Spring that usually does what it says on the tin.
