I can't help but smile when I hear people stop going to work or school because of snow. Some of the pictures forb took show just a few centimeters (maybe an inch?) of snow on top of the cars. That's not much. :-)

I guess to be specific, I think it's funny that everyone's like "omg it is awful outside" and I reply "Yeah, it's slick. Be careful and you'll be fine."
i'm biking in winter with regular tires... tho here its mostly colder than zero so i don't get ice all that much.

The south of England yes. Northern England/Scotland get snow every single winter and we are pretty used to it, there are 2 ski slopes near where I live.

If a single flake falls on London however, expect transport chaos.

The reason there is hardly any on the cars is because I shoved snow every half hour for upwards of 8 hours. On top of that I kept cleaning off the cars so that they didn't get encased in ice and snow. In the end we got somewhere around 27 inches of snow. Average yearly snowball in Kansas city is 20 inches.

Truck is because we are moving.

we've been getting a load of snow today... not necessarily high volume but it's been going solid since before sunrise.

I think the estimates are around 15cm but they closed the schools to be safe.

27 inches = 68.58 centimeters

Americans don't use the metric system, but unlike every other nationality we understand the concept of googling the conversion. I vastly prefer the standard system anyway. Metric is broken up so much that it's irritating to follow.

Of course I say that in a forum full of eurofags...

Lol I know, and I find the distinction quite amusing. Somewhere up there with n*gg a/er ... as though that makes it instantly ok to say. Double standards are awesome amirite?

You do realize that the USA is the ONLY remaining "real" country to use the inch (sorry Burma and Liberia) officially right?... a unit of measurement that is based on the kind of France's thumb?

(some facts massaged for the same of comedy)

He's aware, although I'm pretty sure they use inches in Iraq now. Spreading the Imperial system, one country at a time.

Where you moving to, Forboding? Texas too full of libruls for you, thought you'd move to Arizona?

9/10 americans will tell you that they prefer standard over metric. +1 to those of you with sense enough to figure out why that is :-)

@caydr, wtf does politics have to do with moving? You must be from quebec. I hear the rest of canada does their best to disown quebec and I'm starting to understand why.

Quebec = Arkansas. Now that makes sense.

Los Angeles if you must know.

I'd like to weigh in and say I wish America used the metric system. It uses a lot of division, yeah, but I find the numbers in the Standard system to be harder to remember. That's just me though.

As an engineering student who needs to use both, I much prefer metric.

Changing the entire country over to metric, though, is a logistical nightmare.
