Since I'm not interested in clicking on anything that Smoth might find stimulating, I'll just assume this is about Duke Nukem Forever. BTW, check out the old trailers for it, the crazy gunfights from pre-2000 would still be crazy today... I kinda doubt any of the original's intact though.

In any case, I predict this game will fail due to it not being hardcore/x-treme/brown enough.

I feel the same thing. It is, sadly, a developer customized "Unreal 2.5" engine if all the scattered bits and pieces of information from the past few years are still valid. Custom renderer and physics plugged in on top, in contrast to the tweaks of that other "Unreal 2.5" you may have seen in Bioshock.

I'm personally biased, I feel like idTech 4 and Source are superior choices to Unreal 2/2.5/3 and rather woefully underused.

The textures and light sources don't seem bad for a commercial title, but the animation, shadows and models look odd, in many cases worse than Human Head/3D Realms' idTech 4 release, Prey.

Since 1997, when Duke Nukem Forever was revealed, little things like Halo and Call of Duty (even Gearbox's own Brothers in Arms) have redefined the shooter many times over.

And it seems like Duke Nukem Forever ignores almost every innovation and advancement pioneered by those and several other big-name shooters of the last decade.

stuff like custom weapons kits, perks, weapon addons etc all stuff that really I will not touch a fps if it doesn't have them.

I am tired of being that guy #22. I like that cod, crysis and tf2 all allow me to be a little more variable. Sometimes a class works for a person but could use that extra bit to make it feel that much more fun for you. Hell fps like dnf do not have even classes so everyone is that guy. Even halo reach has caved and started letting you at least have some sort of class specialization.

I like this aspect of modern fps games and do not expect to see it in dnf.

people have fun railing on cod or halo but really it is just making fun of what is popular they are more deep than the old fps games we used to play and if you are arguing any different you are just bullshiting.

More deep, that can mean almost anything... Games in the style of Duke or Doom etc. are a better design anyway even if it's "simpler" in some irrelevant respect.
