Who is trolling who? O_o

When giving bug reports, give as much information as possible. If the point is that chili does not resize nicely when you resize the window, the point is well made. However, knorke was specifically complaining about strangely sized windows, without describing the process he used to get them.

no. read again.
you just picked out one random thing from my posts.

smoth posts his nice chili screenshots and i answer with "no, it does not look like this for me without problems."
Just as this thread is not a how-to-fix guide, my posts in it are not bugreports. But if you care, the most grave problem in that "testsession" was that clicking the close button on this avatar selection window caused ALL UI to disappear. Afaik car has since fixed it, fuck yeah.
Still the images
illustrate why i dont like chili
as I sadly have no stockpile of screaming anime people to use, i figured they could be used for that. illustrations not binding. I thought i had made that clear enough ohwell.

re-rail?

kthx.

To me it also feels like this and it is tiresome to test, it is not getting anywhere.
When you want others to do better testing, cut down the problem so it is testable by people who are not familiar with it. For example

Afaik imprecise. It's not chili's responsibility, it's the widgets that need to handle that.

Ok fair enough, probably better that widgets handle resizing on their own anyway.

window resizing were not really my point but since it seems of interesst:
imo if the spring window gets resized, that is something that the framework should handle and widget makers should not have to worry about. That seems like one of the main reasons to use such a framework instead of doing it yourself.

I partially agree. If done by the framework, it work right away for all widgets. Problem is that you sometimes want minimum sizes or certain ratio sizes between elements. Even if supported by the framework it's still the widget coder's responsibility to use it correctly.

yes...
the widget could tell the framework how it wants to be resized.
like "scale uniform", "scale vertical only", "scale horizontal only", "scale horizontal but do not stretch buttons, instead just put more space between buttons", etc
problem is that you quickly end up with lots of (undocumented ;) ) options and if somebody wants something really custom that one option will probally still be missing.

knorke, try gundam. I scale the minimap, chat and music.

I primarily play windowed so I know your frustration with that.
