ohhh i get it, you want leaves and butterflies flying around the map <3
omg thread just got gayer!! :shock:

but i think its an important difference if you want animals running around the map or if you want stuff like snow or rain.

"floating bitmaps" can mean a lot of things: float around the screen the way a mouse pointer does it, floating around on the terrain (like ground scars or ally cursor widget) or floating around full 3D like planes or snow flakes.
for the animals its important that they are always updated while snow other weather effects only need to "happen in front of the players camera." At least thats how most games do it i think. It makes a different how someone would implent that i guess.

some maps already have rain and snow...dont know how that works though. i think some were done by smoth and argh?
and for animals maybe annoy the ca team until they change the chicken ai to include butterflys instead of monsters?

i think you want floating bitmaps that always are seen from the front?
like monsters in old 3D shooter ie wolfenstein 3d, doom?
i think thats called billboard sprite because they always face the camera like a billboard (poster)

yes floating bitmaps, like the snow we already have- depending on the terrain. And i wanted it easily customizeable because the "paint something in paintbrush" threads on /b/ are always fool, while the "Oooh,exploitable" threads requiring photoshoopskills are halfempty..

but how much can you actually do by putting different textures on snow flakes? i think for cows it would not work that good?
and dead birds falling from they sky make me depressed.

Well, i expected thos particles in my system to drift in anti-g over the map, with the wind.. that was before ARGH bulldozed everything, because if such a thing exists, it has to be in worldbuilder, and nowhere else, handcrafted by his majesty himself. If he could he would make it illegal for everybody else to even plan or think aloud, because that is basically becoming free featureunfreezing competition for the C.U.R.E. So lets stop discussing any problems knorke, the eternity ahead is well planed for and equiped with every possible comfort&witchGet&tool.

Always remember: Daydreaming is ideastealing from the Hamster! ;)

Rest assured that i will rework that thing, i wanted it originally to be more jellyfish like- the forks will go, just for them there is no need to make the pic highres.
