Poor planning thensmoth wrote:What if you ate an hour ago.
I wouldn't say thats true at all, set meals are designed to be better, and if i recall from all the shit that ive read about eating in magazines, snacking only keeps you hungry, where as filling yourself keeps you full longer.Panda wrote:It's better for your metabolism to eat smaller meals plus snacks.
I would disagree.smoth wrote:grazing(snacking) is better if you want to keep off the pounds
Snacking keeps your metabolism running... yes you stay hungry, but if you are planning to snack 6 times a day you probably will be able to wait the 1 hour or so for your next snack instead of the 4 hours for you next meal...Spawn_Retard wrote:I would disagree.smoth wrote:grazing(snacking) is better if you want to keep off the pounds
Depends upon lifestyle: For a native constantly on the move walking the landscape, taking a fruit here, some nuts there, that is certainly true, however for some civilian (western circumstances) the fruits&snacks have more kcals than anyhting that native can grab in a day, so for us it makes most sence to eat well composed meals (amount lowering from breakfast>lunch>evening meal) and something lowfat/lowsugar/loweverything (fruits, chewing gum, something) to chew upon for the instinct..Panda wrote:It's better for your metabolism to eat smaller meals plus snacks.
I don't think that what you're saying is entirely true about instincts making us eat to many sweets. I notice that when I eat too many sweets (even if I haven't eaten but a few pieces of chocolate) I will start to feel really sick if I don't stop eating it right then. Therefore, while I like the taste of specific sweets, I do not like to eat them very often and I won't eat them quickly either. However, I think that this may be true for me because I am not used to eating a lot of sweets. I am a very active person and I do eat frequently, but I still have to make sure eat enough things with protein in it in order to not get anemic and I have always had some difficulty with gaining weight. I also do not drink cola because I don't like how it fizzes and burns your throat. I've done some science experiments on cola too. It really does, in a way, rot your teeth (by facilitating tooth decay) and it has a lot of acid and sugar in it.PicassoCT wrote:Depends upon lifestyle: For a native constantly on the move walking the landscape, taking a fruit here, some nuts there, that is certainly true, however for some civilian (western circumstances) the fruits&snacks have more kcals than anyhting that native can grab in a day, so for us it makes most sence to eat well composed meals (amount lowering from breakfast>lunch>evening meal) and something lowfat/lowsugar/loweverything (fruits, chewing gum, something) to chew upon for the instinct..Panda wrote:It's better for your metabolism to eat smaller meals plus snacks.
However what our intelligence suggests as clever behaviour and what our instincts make us do against our free will, is written on another paper.
MightCorruptor of Human Will enters the Arena and casts its smell. It is highly effective, making us all hungry apes, going for the sweet fruit, growing on the bakerytree, spreading the genes of the chochlattree, abandon every last particle of pride, replacing it with fat.
