Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
closet statement still applies, and isn't golden rule something about doing what you want others to do to you?

Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
Not the same golden rule
Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
Ohoho it sure is! Glad we're in agreement.Argh wrote:I know it's fun to jerk AF's chain, I have been guilty myself.
I spoiled the 'ninja way' and nothing more. It started out as a curiosity-driven intrusion and then was merely an eye-opening mass communication.Argh wrote: But it's not so funny when you spoil his latest attempt to work on something big, especially after he spent the time and trouble to contact a lot of folks and get it moving, albeit in a ninja way.
It sure is, good thing I'm not making a career of my spring public image. Other relevant terms are "dick move", "complete asshat" and possibly "flawlessly uncivil".Argh wrote:That's just childish, and doing stuff like giving out his personal information is really unprofessional. I know that's easy to do and stuff, but keep in mind that divulging it at random to the public is generally uncool.
Again I really didn't condemn the project to closure or "out" it at all. I merely divulged its existence to the occupants of a (highly elitist and vastly superior) lobby channel, and a few select lobby devs. And then most of the forum. NBD.Argh wrote:I can't really support that. Lulz are one thing, but these kinds of games involve real people wasting real time and effort, and are generally not in the interest of the community, and I can't really feel a lot of sympathy about somebody deciding that a ninja project should be outed in the early stages for lulz.
My loyal and wise band of crusading yes-men had nothing to do with this one. And the long-term animosity between AF and myself is probably well-known to you. If not...well let's just say I don't drop a well-founded grudge very easily.Argh wrote:I think that you and the other guilty parties probably owe him an apology, unless there's more going on here, in which case I would like to know before making a judgement.
Please, the term "hacker feud" just screams Fox News. As for the letterbombing....that'd be cool. AF, want my address?Argh wrote:I generally don't get involved in your hacker feuds, other than to tell you guys not to spaz out, which is usually futile; if he tried to letterbomb you or whatever, then I suppose all's fair. But I really have trouble imagining AF doing such a thing, or thinking it'd be a good idea to appeal in public if he didn't honestly feel he'd been wronged.

Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
ah yes javascript. wups!
Cleansed version will be posted tomorrow.
Also I would consider those two particular surprises to be unwarranted, considering who the target ends up being. Attack me, not people who are looking at those pages.

iirc it was you looking at the pages you stole therefore who is to complain when files that should never be accessed on my server turn out to be something other than what they appear ^_^
Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
I have not executed any of your changed javascript. My IP is 24.224.somethingorother; if any other IPs are accessing it you're attacking third parties.

Regardless, it was a real dick move and personally I think an offense such as this deserves a tempban from spring altogether. I fail to see how maliciously attacking a single spring project is different from attacking spring itself.
Moreover, he should be tempbanned simply because he's an asshole. It'd do him some good to get away from your computer and do things that normal human beings do. Don't let the door hit you on your way out, peet.

Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
The file is harmless and contains only
Put it in your address bar, or even google it, it wipes the current tab of all content and resets the history, perfectly harmless.
Code: Select all
location.replace('about:blank');

Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
I dont have any of those, theyre all blanking javascript files, your Opera must be buggy, everything under the darkstars domain uses gzip compression
Re: To the former inhabitants of the Icarus forum
I am currently looking at an html file just under a gigabyte.
Cool story bro.
Code: Select all
