This looks better than current CA UI. Which is incredible because I doubt he spent more than 30min on that.

The problem is, there are a lot of different things that show information to the player. The developers are working on a new GUI, and it looks amazing from what I've seen (although thats not saying much as my computer has been out of commission for a while and I haven't been able to actually test it out)

The fixed GUI you proposed is nice, but there are a few elements on there that take up too much space. The console imo should be hidden at the top, and show only when messages come up. Likewise the unit commands/build orders should be hidden from view until needed.

Anyway, the point is that a new GUI is on the way, and will be much nicer than the present one. In the meantime, have you tried iceui or lolui?

ive tried to install ICE UI but then was Spring crashing :(
but when will the new ui come out?

It is already out, but not complete. Once skinning gets implemented, I think we can make cool fixed uis, too.
