honestly, if you want to spend the effort to make a game, you shouldn't, in my opinion, tie it legally and design-wise to an existing franchise. It's just a recipe for disaster. Basically what KaiserJ said.

But this is all my opinion. If you're willing to work on it, Zenmetsu Saseru, I'm sure others will help you once you produce some content (five or six ingame units, some Lua, etc.)(that's hopefully not clones of existing SC units :P ). :-)

There are lots of franchises that do not C&D mods/tc-s/remakes/freeware based on their material, mainly because they do not care. Sadly, SC is not one of them.
