Default settings should not be "abysmal quality"

Yeah, it is great, with 3do models and no effects - and if you don't mind all the icons being broken. Otherwise known as abysmal quality, which is precisely what you were complaining about in the first place.

True, but my main concern now is just running at the native screen resolution. Actually I thought that was what I was posting about...

When Spring installs itself, settings should default to medium or medium-high settings, and MORE IMPORTANTLY the screen resolution should be set to whatever the desktop's is.

Also please bring back the drop-down resolution box. I have no problem with it but newbies would.

Yeah.. the screen resolution was the "more importantly" bit. It should default to desktop resolution.

Interestingly, without my prompting it was able to figure out that my screen was incapable of going above 600 vertical resolution and automatically dropped my resolution to 800x600. So there IS a detector of some kind there, it just isn't doing all that it could.
