This thread isn't about Gates and has nothing to do with him. I love the fact Gates is doing charity work instead and he's actually resigned from his head position at Microsoft anyway so it has nothing to do with him.

I guess, after he left, it just went downhill, I'm looking forward to Windows 7 though but really, you can hardly call Vista an OS. It can't operate anything successfully...

If Bill gates hadn't come along we would all be using MacOS... or Xerox OS... or Unix... or Nintendo (In japan the NES was the FamiCom Computer Entertainment System) or something like that... Microsoft didn't invent the mouse, the window, "multi-tasking" or program the first DOS for that matter... All in all, it was inevitable that some company would make a crappy operating system and spend a whole lot on marketing and/or been monopolistic before the government regulators got around to noticing.

It's stupid when someone types that and I don't care is a meme or some other crap you guys can think up with. Microsoft isn't evil is just a company. If you hate Microsoft so much then stop using their products. There other company's besides Microsoft. All of this anti-Microsoft reminds me of the so-called "community" of linux.

What are you on about? Microsoft is about money. Every company in the world is about making money and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, hell they even developed a program called Microsoft Money. Stop being petty.

Win7 is amazing so far, and I have recently tried out the xp mode... Very impressive to say the least. However, once you have truly switched over to 64bit, windows xp is very much bleh in comparison.

Edit: SPeaking of, funny and true story. The other day a guy was bragging to me about the 8 gigs of OCZ in his windows xp home box. I lolled.
