There's absolutely no reason to get Vista with Windows 7 one month away from going gold and maybe 3 months away from shipping to consumers on PCs and in boxes.
That said, Vista wasn't as bad as it was made out to be AFTER all the people who wrote software and drivers got everything working on Vista. Vista just got a really bad rap from not working well at the start, mainly from drivers that caused crashes and software that just plain didn't work. Obviously, Vista wasn't as fast as it should have been, and there was definitely some bugs until Microsoft got the first few updates done, but it didn't deserve the trashing it got.

Not when you got onboard flash memory for hibernation purposes which I doNah, on a laptop it hibernates a lot, but on a desktop it's an honest to god restart.
