Ok,

I uploaded the package for testing reasons into RapidShare, contact me via PM to get the link and test it if you want.

See you

not really a bump, but a "still want launchpad" is it up yet?

but not to be naggy, so is it that you cannot get boost 1.35 and spring in the same package? because if that is the case why not upload then seperately, and write some sort of a maeesage saying that you need boost, and it is aquirable from the Apt-Repo?

anyhow played LOTS of games online with MrPresidents' .deb, works pretty okay... but i have some errors
  • sound is really screwey <-most important?
  • lua crashes with customformations(BA) but im pretty sure that happenes to everyone
  • my computer is kind of crappy, so recently when i was playing a DSD game and my CPU usage went up to 100'sh% the map started flickering blue
  • i have a 2.2GHz dual core computer, but it says my computer speed is usually 1.0 GHz but sometimes it says it's 1.7'sh
finally, sorry for the very late post, i was just wondering if the apt repo is fixed, becasue for the next spring release, i may need it

As far as i know, there is no fix yet for the repo.

No, i wont put together both packages on the same one, because that breaks the idea of "dependencies" and so.

I have some strange behavior on sound too, and a heavy CPU usage on any map in situations i think my computer could handle in the past. No problems with LUA or custom formations, anytime.

Im moving into a new ubuntu release (9.04) just because i need it for other reasons, so i don't think i can go on packaging future spring versions. Maybe i could make a package for the last on which says to fix some strange sound behavior. Ill notice you if i do it.

See you.

even doh this is not realy a quetion for this forum...
i can see ubuntu(linux in general) being pretty nasty if you do not have internet to set it up.
if you can, get your computer to somewhere where you have internet, then stay there for a few hours/a day or so, and install everything you want. best is, if you have a high capacity connection there. as you describe it, i have ot guess you have a PC, not a notebook, which makes this plan a bit more ugly... but for linux this is really the best/easiest option still.

download the packages manually from a mirror from a pc with connection, copy on the pc and install, make sure you list/download the dependencies when downloading the packages unless you like to keep going back and forth to download the stuff

if that place has plenty of bandwith/time/space, you could download the entire repository to use locally

A usb-hdd and apt-mirror are your friends here.

There is a Tool called apt-offline http://apt-offline.alioth.debian.org/ which is available at least in Debian testing/unstable http://packages.debian.org/sid/apt-offline that can be used to transfer a package with all its dependencies from a connected machine to one without an internet connection. The tool should work with Ubuntu as it is based on Debian.
