Look at it this way. You spend what, 8, maybe 12 months making a texture and heightmap? Then you spend what, 1, maybe 3 seconds entering some numbers for gravity and the like? If that gravity value ruins a mod so they can't play your map at all, that would suck considering the time you spend on the actual hard part. And if it were possible to override the typemap, then a mod option would be fine.

IIRC, the terrainTypes can be modified using MapOptions.

can the actual type map shape be replaced or altered?
