With most linux distros, the meta key can be bound to a ton of operations, and can be really useful (especially when you use desktop effects). pressing it alone has no effect (unless you bind one  )

Also: call me a gullible loser, but i own a backlit keyboard, mainly because my keyboard tray is always cloaked in shadow, which make all the keys impossible to see (and i cant touch type :( ).

For $129+, that keyboard had better give your fingers a better ride than a well-tuned grand piano with a sexy lady lounging on it.

Gotta love lines like, "German-engineered gold-plated mechanical key switches that provide tactile and audio feedback making typing a pure joy", as if it's some kind of typing pr0n, though ;)

Oh, and the Windows key sucks, and always has, and is nothing like the Mac's command key, which is... eh... like right-click in Windows. Sort've.

130 USD isn't much for one of the most important parts of your computer.

So much money for a piece of plastic... no thank you sir. I'd rather spend 1000+ on that oled one

Also, in regards to the windows key: ctrl+esc

Part of the reason for buying them are that they don't contain as much cheap plastic as regular keyboards...

So you would rather spend 1000 USD on a keyboard that's been know to be really shitty for typing with and you're being condescending on how we use our money. Uh huh.

Wow - a gamer keyboard with standard layout and without dozens of *bling, bling* additional special keys everywhere...

I found out that today it's really hard if you want a "simple" keyboard that's not too expensive. The most popular change probably is to fuck up the entire area where your delete button & stuff is and do some strange uninuitive combo things there. Now add a wish to get an ergonomic one which would be a white one with black printing on the keys and the amount of keyboards to choose from goes down to a minimum. All I recently found were some pretty much identical Cherrys and one Logitech (with slim F-buttons though). I chose the latter because of the nicer mechanical stop...

Today you usually get this "gamer" crap or notebook style stuff without real stop and haptics - the traditional style really is dying out...

My keyboard has backlighting that I turn off when the room is lit, it's for LAN parties when people insist on turning the lights off which some do. And hell, it was pretty cheap because of a price drop. Oh and it's got a standard key layout with only vlume buttons as extra keys, nothing like the fucking retarded power/sleep/wake keys on my previous one that I had to pop out because accidentally hitting them shut the computer off.

I hate keyboards that are like laptop keyboards...

My keyboard costed like 10 euro and I have it for over 4.5 years... still works fine. I clean it every few months, and sometimes repair.

KDR_11k:
I also ripped out power, sleep, and wakeup... those are "conveniently" placed under delete, end, and pagedown. That's nearly as stupid as having reset button on keyboard. My PC case BTW has reset button that requires something sharp (like pen) to press, very nice. Didn't have to use it yet.

The reset button on my PC shuts down the computer and clears CMOS. Do I win?

no if you ever used reset button (or equivalent such as powercycling when it hanged up), you lose.

Heh heh. My keyboard is nice and I've had it.. For, shit... Over ten years, it came with the first PC we got (well, that I can remember, no idea if they had one before then.) Still works nicely, and if you flip it over and knock it against something, anything loose inside falls out.

Nice windows key shortcuts, and incidentally the reason why the windows key has survived on my KB, even though I abhor the placement of it.

* Windows Logo (Display or hide the Start menu)
* Windows Logo+BREAK (Display the System Properties dialog box)
* Windows Logo+D (Display the desktop)
* Windows Logo+M (Minimize all of the windows)
* Windows Logo+SHIFT+M (Restore the minimized windows)
* Windows Logo+E (Open My Computer)
* Windows Logo+F (Search for a file or a folder)
* CTRL+Windows Logo+F (Search for computers)
* Windows Logo+F1 (Display Windows Help)
* Windows Logo+ L (Lock the keyboard)
* Windows Logo+R (Open the Run dialog box)
* Windows Logo+U (Open Utility Manager)
* Windows logo Windows Key + G: Cycle through the Sidebar Gadgets
* Windows logo Windows Key + T: Cycle through programs on the Taskbar
* Windows logo Windows Key + U: Open the Ease of Access Center
* Windows logo Windows Key + X: Open the Windows Mobile Center

And the most overlooked feature of windows, EVER:

this thread reminds me why I browse geek gadgets websites for lulz

I was doubting that the ridiculous descriptions could convince someone to buy until I saw this ...

EDIT:
some related links as example which also makes me wonder if he didn't order those from this website and didn't buy more :P
