If someone was banned he wouldn't really care about spending extra minute.
It would still increase the threshold a lot. With the current system some people get muted and instantly grab a new account to continue talking.

Require an email if that ip has an account attached to it.

Just always require an email, there are more benefits than the smurfing thing and what KDD said.

Its ok IMO, if they dont talk about the same thing which why they got muted. mute is kinda stupid way to solve problems, though, if he keeps making problems after kick, then its ok to mute for a day etc... but if you get muted for a day just because you said nigger, then its so wrong.

+ cant you rename account like in 2 secs, and smurf with other name?

a smart registration system would figure out that the same ip is trying to register again and could require an activation code for that particular ip users. and it could delay the activation email for a minute or two, which should be enough for spammers with an attention span of 7.5 s.

You can rename, but that's not rank smurfing as it doesn't screw with the balance.

TBH i hate the balance system, i had to create new account, since i suck, + i always got the noobs in the games because of my uber rank... was fucking annoying... quote from myself: "oh god, i got 3 newbs again with me because i am a veteran, like that makes me 3 times better than others" (and other team had like no newbs at all)

Decreasing smurfing was not the original intention for me suggesting this, but it thought it could just be a nice side effect for having an email system. Implementing this system would generally decrease new accounts as it would stop all these people who forget their passwords which is seeming to become quite popular recently.

-1 ON the -1, this is the interwebs, most sites you go to LOG YOUR FUCKING IP, if you don't care about that then don't cry about handing out your email too.

if you worry about spam just make a hotmail account for non-trusted sites, it works.

You gave a valid email for this forum...I don't see why the lobby would be any different. It'd go to the same server.

when all 30 get banned won't you be pissed? It takes less time to ban than it does to create an account. if this isn't true someone needs to fix that,

Banning takes the time to log in to the interface, input reason, etc. Admin-level account breaking, on the other hand, is near-instant.

Just make C++ application which creates automatically new account when you get banned, using those random trashmails in the account...

I dont think anyone got banned 30 times here... maybe 5 max..
