Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
Ive redone the FAQ page to be less intimidating and more helpful.
Rather than a huge FAQ wall fo text its now in sub pages with some side boxes with links to report bugs and visit the help forums.
I also changed the development page using the test page I made earlier and fixed some formatting issues

Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
The main wiki page is now OBSOLETE! The development and Help pages have now got all the same page links and then some. Go take a look, its much prettier and easier to use
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
Nice work. Looks great.
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
why isnt this added yet? This is important!

Hoi wrote:why isnt this added yet? This is important!
Because there is no point. There is nothing on the main wiki page that isnt already in the new help and development pages. All the links are there, nothing is missing, and if anything is missing it can easily be added.
The main wiki page is now utterly obsolete
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
Let's assume I am a confused fresh newb. I click help. I skim the wall of text: "General FAQ" hmm dunno what I'll find there, I'll leave it for later. "System Requirements FAQ" hmm bah my PC is new so I do sure hope it'll work! "Technical FAQ" hmm no I'm not a tecchie. "Playing ingame FAQ" hmm oh no! not yet! I must first get it to ingame. "Content FAQ" "A FAQ on content, be that games or maps" oh looks like maybe the actual files are stored there. I click it. "How powerful will ...", "Will units be able ... ", "Will Spring...", "Will X", "Will Y", ... Oh looks like Spring doesn't exist yet, waste of time staying on that website, byebye!!
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
I agree with zwzsg, help should point at an actual help page... like installing and playing for example... maybe on THAT page you could put a link to FAQs... I still think there is a place for a wiki home link but whatever...
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
Then edit the help page so it actually is a proper help page! There's nothing in the wiki main page that isnt already in the dev and help pages linked form the menu
And tbh the FAQs need rewritting from scratch

Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
IMO we should remove this wiki shit, unless you have an idea how to use PHP with it?
Like, theres no dynamic content at all... if you wanna update the game, you need to edit the wiki pages by hands, thats pretty retarded... since you could just do that with PHP + maybe make a list for all previous releases too... & other dynamic content, would make site much better.

http://spring.clan-sy.com/dl/
<-- dynamic list of all releases
If you want some nice page with links to all old versions make php script that does dir list and some regex or other filtering to get only spring_*.exe and taspring_*.exe and I suppose we could put it online somewhere.
Making it possible to do server side scripting in the wiki however seems like pretty stupid idea wrt security.

Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
yeah thats why wiki should be removed... and replaced with some higher level stuff...
this page just looks so crappy when theres this kind of wiki, makes it non professional looking... at least with the current wiki, because it is so random unclean content, people adds random stuff and it doesnt have a good structure.
Personally i hate the current download page (the old one was better), now it just looks messy, and unfinished... plus that contents thing at right is useless since its so small page. I could make it look better with just few tables.
