Q: why so many backups for the lobby and not a single one for this site?

because a backup server for lobby can run fine without having data from original master

Personally, it's easier for me to provide a lobby server. I don't think they're many backup lobby servers running.

A site mirror is something public and more difficult concerning security matters. I don't have the knowledge to provide web hosting with an "hack proof" warranty.

atleast the wiki then + a link to download the game and a front that says like main server is down the fully functional site will be up again when the main server works again

Just use apache+php

apache is safe enough
i don't see what is the risk of hosting a web server
just if you use windoze there will be serious security problems

Sorry, but that's plain BS. Problems almost always arise from the client software run on the host, not the host software itself.

Anyways, i'd have no problem with hosting a mirror that's periodically synced. The real problem is to point users there if main host isn't reachable.

The first problem is getting a mysql database copy
Redirecting isn't a problem
Just add the mirror to #main topic :-)
