Yes, it's much harder to make textures than to critique them, eh? :P

Critique is hard too! It needs objectiveness, understanding, experience and many-many years of work at this vocation!

Actually I find texturing fun, it is just time consuming.

Keep at it. Once you get the hang of it, texturing is really the more fun part in the 3D creation process. And it helps your modelling alot as well, because you'll learn to make models so they're more efficient, cleaner and thus easier to texture.

Ok yeah, it totally sucks unless you're getting payed to do it

Unwrapping (uvw mapping) and texturing are probably the hardest part to creating a model because a uvw and texture can make or break any model, good or bad.

Uvw mapping is just plain boring, tedious work.

You can make the most badass looking model ever, but if you can't unwrap it or texture it and make it look good you might have well not even have made it, unless you can find somebody else willing to do those other steps.

Its just a process that you learn, and each step forward relies heavily on the last one being done well.

*coughs, points to all the untextured PURE model's he's sent to Argh and the IW team over the past year*

Too late, I will never try to texture models again. Expect to see tons of models without textures coming from me in the next few months.

Well, odds are they will not be textured. We have tons of modelers and few texture people.

I do not know about time, but if I can figure out how to unwrap models nicely, I could do textures. I should brush up my PS skillz.
