Of course but it's a flaw with reward schemes, the point system is dumb and any weakness will be exploited pretty soon, forcing you to add more complexity to the system.Ixoran wrote:Also, just because people farm, doesn't mean that is the way the game was intended to be played...

Re: A Team-based RTS
Almost every game ever boils down to "points"(EXP, Highscores, Metal, Energy, gold, stats, overdrive, kills...) it all really comes down to how much you want to abstract it I guess. That and the playerbase.Zpock wrote:If you make the game to be about collecting points then people will do just that.
Re: A Team-based RTS
It depends if your talking persisting (between games) points or not, then there's a huge difference. And making the enemy give up or killing all the enemies units as is the normal RTS victory condition is not directly connected to any points (they just help).
Re: A Team-based RTS
The difference between score points and resources is that resources have a very simple way of gathering that is explained to everyone, the scoring algorithms are usually kept somewhat secret and when attempting to reward cooperation often very complex.Ixoran wrote:Almost every game ever boils down to "points"(EXP, Highscores, Metal, Energy, gold, stats, overdrive, kills...) it all really comes down to how much you want to abstract it I guess. Re: A Team-based RTS
The Blue Tanks could be team based I guess. We rarely played teams though. Updates to a few of my mods could make team matches more fun.KDR_11k wrote: IIRC Draco made a team-based mod once.

Mid-East Crisis 2.0 will have the A-Team as easter-egg.1v0ry_k1ng wrote:I lopened this thread thinking this was an RTS based on the A-team,
