Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
It's a mystery wiki.
Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
*updated all lua wiki pages to 76b1
*cleaned the "Mod and Unit development" page (add 2 cob tutorial links)
*unlinked outdated,ugly and redundant Units:Weapons
*updated newer weapon.tdf wiki: Weapon_Variables
There are also 2 unit fbi wikis, so one needs to be deleted and the other one needs some overhaul.
Also devs should then begin to use those standarized wiki pages to document their features and to save maintenance.

Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
who the hell deleted my weapon variable page...
All_Weapons_variable_values
even if someone messed the rest of it, doesnt mean it needs to be deleted >_>

Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
Why don't the standard wiki tags work anymore? Sections and subsections aren't run (= etcetera...) for example...
Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
Shouldn't the data from your page be merged into:TradeMark wrote:who the hell deleted my weapon variable page...

Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
no, its a list without bullshit talk (aka descriptions), easy to copy and paste your own programs... and normal users wouldnt really find those datatypes useful either >_> so its best to keep them separate...
Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
SRSLY, don't delete pages, don't wipe page content, if you believe the page is garbage put a link at the top of the page to one that ISN'T garbage... as I said, people may have linked to or need info on the old page, and as zwzsg said sometimes there are trivial little bit of information said the right way on the crap page that you might need later.
Re: Wiki needs some serious cleanup work
1. it wasn't deleted, it was unlinked from the main pageTradeMark wrote:who the hell deleted my weapon variable page...
All_Weapons_variable_values

2. it is outdated
3. there is a massive unsorted `spam` at the bottom of the page
4. nobody maintain it
5. it is about the same content as Weapon_Variables
First, if there are multiple pages with the same topic, nobody will maintain any of the pages, neither the devs nor users! So standarized pages are part of a clean wiki, cause ppl will directly know where the have to search for content and they know where to add new one.
Also it is outdated so there is no reason to have it on the main page, it only irritates users. So the question was, which page is more userfriendly and then update this, what I have done.
It wasn't deleted it was only unlinked from the main page.SinbadEV wrote:SRSLY, don't delete pages, don't wipe page content, if you believe the page is garbage put a link at the top of the page to one that ISN'T garbage... as I said, people may have linked to or need info on the old page, and as zwzsg said sometimes there are trivial little bit of information said the right way on the crap page that you might need later.

3. then clean it...3. there is a massive unsorted `spam` at the bottom of the page
4. nobody maintain it

4. i would, but havent really taken care of it lately.
5. no, its not same content, its for programmers who wanna use that info in their programs...
