I think the current sun is a much better concept, with more vague feel, like "a new beginning", explosions, a nice view, and tons of stuff like that.

And I agree that the idea behind the sun might be a little more complex than an idea rooted in gears. However, I believe the actual execution in our current logo does not convey these ideas as well as they could.

My favorite is the bottom right as well. I was just entertaining a few immediate responses with the black gears. I never really intended to make the Spring logo into something as gear like as those examples. That said, I'm still drawn to the top two of the black gears, if just for their grid structure and nothing else.

Bottom right with a decent font but the S. Gear + S actually looks cool but the for the rest the font is too quirky.
