The TA back story is relatively dry and lame, it's basically entirely designed to support a universe where big robots explode each other after a commander builds them. I don't think the TA story makes for a dynamic universe to show in a movie, and I don't think it runs through enough actual plot to interest viewers. So overall I vote no on a TA movie.

That being said, there are themes underlying the TA storyline that would be very interesting to see portrayed in flim. Black and white one side vs the other war. Total conflict and devastation on a universal scale, over naught but ideals. No diplomacy, no surrender, no truce, just destruction. Things the TA story included for gameplay reasons, the commander as a primary unit, the vieing over insignificant planetary entities, the lack of anything remotely human looking, those would be best dropped, mostly they serve as impediments to telling a story, however, the themes are very rarely used in conventional storytelling, and therefore conventional filming.

Swifty the cavedog back story may be rather dull, but some of the fan produced stories are pretty good. Have a look at the TAU story forums. :-)

I like the TA story. It gives an epic feel, the arm/core are cool factions. The whole patterning thing is very philosphical and 4000-year war of total annihilation is hardcore. It didn't get into details and stuff but I'm always bored by long story sections written about aliens/elves soap opera like everyone seems to want.

I had some ideas running loose in my head about a story set in the TA universe, told with a short series of Flash movies.

Basically, the characters were:

-Old Arm commander who gets patterned and becomes the Core's most feared commander
-Young Arm commander who's the protagonist of the story. Natural-born (ie, not cloned) - dashing, girl-chaser with a heart of gold.
-Protagonist's sweetheart
-Various minor characters
-Arm clones * 10000

And the climax would be a Krogoth vs. Orcone fight.

Sounds like a plan.

Maybe the young arm commander is turned to the core side by the old commander with hope of saving his beloved girlfriend from apparantly certain death?

Zenka, do you still have your self-made Spring movie somewhere? I'd love to see it, but the link in that old thread doesn't seem to work anymore :(

Hmm.. There was this one TA story, called "IN THE NAVY" no, it wasn't gay, but it was cool. I think it's been lost to the internet though.
