Gonna try and work a bit more on Spring Network. Ideally, I'll start working on some Gundam/Evo pages soon. For now though, just gonna try and fix some stuff up a bit. Namely the links and changing all CA references to ZK.

Most the CA screenshots are still valid for ZK in that most the models are the same. If anybody objects to any screenshots in particular, say so and I'll replace them.

That goes for linking too. If anybody is unhappy with me linking to their site or making these mini pages about their games, let me know and I'll get rid of them.

Oh and I did want to try and fix the spam on the Community forums but I've got some wacky SQL error in its place now instead and have no idea how to fix it. If anybody knows how, could use your help :P

Video on autoplay. Yes or no?

Also, I need some proper links for the main Sprink Network page. There's no longer a replay/modinfo site, Spring ladder site and I can't see me getting any clan/tourney sites done any time soon. Could use some suggestions for what to put there instead.

Steam does it too, which I kind of dislike. Tbh, I like the way Desura does it the best. Dunno how to explain how desura does it, visit the evo page on desura for a good example.

However, sitting there with autoplay off should do quite nicely :-)

Its only okay for steam because its usually inside a dedicated app, and its muted by default. Otherwise it'dbe an awful idea.

I hate it when I open something in a new tab for later and suddenly music is blearing out and I have to look through all my tabs to figure out where its coming from.

What if somebody middle clicks on every menu item to look at every game? Should they be inundated with 5 or 6 videos playing at once?

Still need the forum issue sorting. This is the error:

Code: Select all

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) [2002]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.
It was working up until recently. If I broke it I'd be less pestering about it but I didn't break it and I don't know how to fix it.

Oh and one more thing I forgot to mention. I seem to have FTP access to every folder on springrts.com apart from a few specific folders which have their permissions properly adjusted like Beh's directory. Other than that, I seem to be able to see every folder and file on the whole server...

Not write permissions ofc but still, it shouldn't be like that right? Either somebody's decided they trust me an awful lot or somebody did a whoopsie. This didn't use to be the case.

I have done, two or three times. Never got any proper help. Twice it just turned into unrelated discussion.

Forums are now back up with a big thanks to Det for helping me setup a new database.

Just fixed a few small style issues related to alignment and the link bar thingy on the top left. Also, set up the captcha so it's the background-image of a div instead of served up straight through the html img tag which is apparently where spambots eat from.

Oh and I left the img tag in there with a nice Mr Bean closeup to deter any potential spambots: http://springrts.com/springnetwork/foru ... e=register
