Supreme Commander seems to be what made Spring developers re-add it though, so that's just supporting the claim that the zoom levels were revolutionary :)AF wrote:Spring had it before supcom was even announced.
Go look in the downloads page at the old old spring released years before the first mention of supreme commander.
Supreme Commander demo release ...

Well the demo wasn't that great for me - I cancelled my pre-ordered copy of supcom after playing for an hour or so.
My main issue is the performance on my PC (3.5GHz P4, 1Gb, X800XL), which is just not smooth enough for me, even on lowest detail! The game is almost always below 30fps, dropping to single figures during big fights.
Spring offers me better graphics (looks lots better than supcom does on lowest detail) and a better gameplay experience tbh. Maybe in a couple of years time when 8800s are old-hat I might get one and give supcom another go :)

where from?It comes with a free copy of Dawn of War for some reason...
I get it on monday from amazon (maybe a little later), and I paid about £20 for it, which is usually how much (PC)games sell for after their initial price drop hdre anyway.

I appreciate that the minimum spec is never any good for any game, but the recommended is normally fine (at least for playing on low detail). The readme file says this:AF wrote:Isnt that the minimum spec? You usually times the minimum spec by 1.5 to get the true minimum spec.
