Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Then i was confused by "Player Tracker Host" option in SD.
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Oh yeah, thats separate service, its service which tells SD where given player is (what map/mod in his battle) without lobby account. That way SD knows what map/mod you need in current game even if lobby (tasclient) does not explicitly ask for download.

Just delete all but 3 latest.
No point keeping them

Yeah, no point watching old replays, or...?Licho wrote:Just delete all but 3 latest.

Count how many CA replays you can find on your start starting from the latest page and working backwardsTradeMark wrote:Yeah, no point watching old replays, or...?Licho wrote:Just delete all but 3 latest.

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Yeah, or just use http://replays.adune.nl/?act=search (Total 56 results found)
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
And BA is 1900 results foundTradeMark wrote:Yeah, or just use http://replays.adune.nl/?act=search (Total 56 results found)

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
you can always reconstruct each CA version from SVN, by simply checking out the right revision into an .sdd folder. therefore, they are not required anymore as solid archives.
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
and how many people know this and how many people know how to do this?hoijui wrote:you can always reconstruct each CA version from SVN, by simply checking out the right revision into an .sdd folder. therefore, they are not required anymore as solid archives.
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
how many people want to replay these 70 demos and if so, are too lazy to ask how to do it in #ca?
do we care for such people?
learn to quote?

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
The point is, what youre suggesting is same as telling a non-programmer to solve a problem by programming it yourself... I've seen such talk a lot in "pro clubs", they dont care or understand that not everyone is as smart as they.
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
first of all i would suggest deleting all useles stuff, like *map* v1, if everyone are playing v732983197jj wrote: Springfiles is hosting almost 10 gig of maps, mods etc.
i bet u can find a lot of files that nobody downloaded in last 2 months
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Lots of people like to watch games, especially good ones. Look at the success of all the SC2 commentary vids on youtube. With the exception of a very, very slim minority everybody is lazy. (and even motivated people are lazy in certain areas) So yes, we do care for such people because otherwise we'd be all alone and friendless with nobody to play withhoijui wrote:how many people want to replay these 70 demos and if so, are too lazy to ask how to do it in #ca?

This isn't very constructive at all. There is nothing wrong with quoting the previous poster to specifically address them.hoijui wrote:learn to quote?

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Technically maackey, if all they do is spec or watch replays you still have no-one to play with

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
you forgot to address the fact that these are 70/2000+ demos. realistically, it would probably happen 1- form now till eternity, that someone would want to watch that.
if he had not quoted my last post, everybody would have known that he addresses my post, even if it would not have been the last post (which is, the de facto default anyway). therefore, it was wrong to quote.
there is even a programming paradigm related to that:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convention ... figuration
... no, you do not have to be a programmer to understand this, or get to the logic behind this by yourself.
in short: relying on conventions saves time for human beings.
there could not be a quote more obsolete then this one.
what i am requesting is: for someone really in need to replay one of these 70 games (lets say, for a movie), instead of:
* finding and installing, or compiling the right old spring version (medium)
* finding the right map (easy)
* finding the right mod (easy)
it would be:
* finding and installing, or compiling the right old spring version (medium)
* finding the right map (easy)
* asking for how to get mod & getting it (medium)
do not babysit someone that most likely does not exist. please!

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Maybe they exist but we arent seeing them because of the complexity of this problem. Dunno about CA now, but it used to get new version every day back then, that was certainly a problem in uploading replays since nobody would be able to watch them since very few people have all the versions on their computer.hoijui wrote:do not babysit someone that most likely does not exist. please!
These kind of problems are very common in developing something because most people wont even report the bugs or problems they are having... Or they simply arent even aware that its possible: they think its a feature.
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
Old replays dont work because of old engine version anyway. Imo no point storing more than 2-3 stables on springfiles.
However it must be stored there, because SL cannot download it using rapid system.

Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
can't just put it in the downloader system?
Re: http://spring.jobjol.nl Needs your help
springfiles.com is downloader system!
Its the only way to distribute it to mirrors atm.
