Groundflashes don't appear if the weapon impacts a unit

If, for instance, an EMP missile hits a bulldog, there will be no dramatic ground flash, just a puff of smoke. Whatever it is that makes the engine decide whether or not to draw the flash needs to be made less sensitive or something.

that is because groundflash happens on the ground....so if you hit the bulldog the shockwave is on the ground.

I know this cause' I'm a "moron"

what we need is a horizontal/vertical shockwave effect.

oh god no, no vertical shockwaves. Shockwaves are invisible in real life, and when they are visible, they appear as a tiny transparent sphere, unless they're travelling through a medium like water or dense smoke.

some arcade effects use this..

so the support would be neat if/when we can define multiple explosion spheres yah that would be cool. Not all explosions have spherical shockwaves.

oh, you mean like stuff liek that. Well yeah that would be neat, I was just saying that a missile hitting a unit or something should not automatically generate a shockwave in the air, unless the modder specifies it.

theotherguy, dude please consider what we are talking about when you jump into a topic.

to clarify, we are talking about the CUSTOM EXPLOSION system. That is is currently VERY VERY alpha.

I'm just saying... currently it appears that groundflashes are just ignored if the weapon they're attached to explodes above a certain height. Well, I think that height needs to be increased by 50% or so at least.
