Pentium 4 (Hyper threading) at 3 ghz. Although its not. The barsteds at dell actually gave me a 2989 mhz processor. Cheapskates.
Oh yer. Thinking of getting this:
AMD AM2 64 X2 4200+
2 gig new ram
AM2 Saphire Crossfire mobo.
P180 Case
What I already have:
Antec Truepower 2 Server class 550W power supply
A sapphire X1600Pro 512
DVD RW
250 gig Hard disk
Sounds good? 650£ budget ftw.

It says right in that artical that it's backwards compatible. No doubt either PCI-e or PCI-eII will be sufficient to run DX10, otherwize I doubt they will be able to sell too many vista copies because only people who have top of the line hardware will be able to run it. Windows makes most of it's sales on buisinesses. They don't make any profit from restricting thier market to only high end gamers.Caydr wrote:For a major upgrade wait for PCI-E v2. No, really, it's actually coming, and soon. http://www.google.ca/search?client=fire ... gle+Search It's my educated guess that all DX10 cards will require a PCIE2 bus.

Aha! I suspected as much. We've got the exact same processor! (though since yesterday I've had mine running at 3.6 ghz)Drone_Fragger wrote:Pentium 4 (Hyper threading) at 3 ghz. Although its not. The barsteds at dell actually gave me a 2989 mhz processor.
