Post your 3DMark 06 scores!

Post by Caydr »

Settings: 1280x1024, no anti-aliasing, optimal filtering (these are the defaults)

My score is:

149 3DMarks
HDR/SM3: n/a
CPU: 885

When my new video card comes, I'll post my new statistics. They better be higher.

I would, but I fall waaaaaay below the minimum required specs to run it.

I mean.

My GeForce mx400 spits in the face of benchmarking with its 64mb of kickass video memory. Yeah, that's the one.

At least you can say you cannot perform the test. I did the test and now I'll live in the shadow of bad score shame for the rest of my days (until new video card arrives. Better be soon, or I'll kick the guy's ass)

I refuse - almost 600MB for a benchmarking app?! That's insane :-(

System stats, Wizard?

Ok, just installed my brand-new BFG Geforce7800GS-OC.

Benchmark results:

3DMark Score 3049 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score 1284
HDR/SM3.0 Score 1325
CPU Score 891

After overclocking my CPU by 10% and telling the nvidia control panel to find the "ideal" overclocking rate (which I can probably push a bit harder, but I'm not going to), I got it up to:

3DMark Score 3465 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score 1483
HDR/SM3.0 Score 1519
CPU Score 965

Not a bad increase from the stats I posted at the topic start ^^

its worth it if you're not looking to go PCIe. it just barely beats the ATI cards that are still on AGP.

I'm looking for PCI-e - except in the future

right now if I want to go PCi-E i have to REPLACE EVERYTHING.

There is no Mobo that supports my CPU AND PCI-E And I really need a quick fix.

For a major upgrade wait for PCI-E v2. No, really, it's actually coming, and soon. http://www.google.ca/search?client=fire ... gle+Search It's my educated guess that all DX10 cards will require a PCIE2 bus.

In the meantime, I would advise you to get the card I mention here: http://taspring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=5225 - the Asus N6800 Geforce 6800 512MB DDR2 AGP8X. It's not at all hard to find.

Then follow the procedure I describe in that thread. You'll pay $175 or so USD at most, all told. I was going to buy some general extras that brought the price up closer to $300, but then decided to check ebay for anything I could get for $300 that might be superior and... voila, a 7800 gs, just what I wanted LOCATED 50 KM FROM MY HOUSE. And BFG at that. Came with Ghost Recon (which I'm trading in for $30 or so probably), no tax, extremely cheap shipping... how sweet it is when ebay actually comes through with a bargain. Would've been an easy $500 with tax had I bought it in-store. The 7800 gs is the fastest AGP card that will ever be manufactured, so I'm content in knowing that I've got the best that money can buy without upgrading mobo, cpu, ram, etc.

Anyway, enough of my pimping. You can get a really good deal on that 6800, and it'll help you ride out the last of this generation until PCI-E 2 comes out.

Oh, in other news: my Radeon 9800 pro is for sale. Anyone want it? I upgraded its firmware to Radeon XT, though you have to underclock it to roughly Pro stats if you intend to run any games, since it'll overheat and give you weird corruption in a hurry in any 3D environment. Still you get a free 5-10% boost thanks to improved efficiency in the firmware.
