There needs to be an intermediate defense between the HLT and Anni/DDM. And don't say the "Popup Cannons", because those suck. At least the Arm one does.

I don't think arm kbots are in any way underpowered though, zueses are good grunts, fatboys and snipers are good heavy support and every attack or defence is five times as good with a couple of spiders.
I'll admit arm kbots don't have any kind of charging unit you'd send right into defences without other units, but that wouldn't be very armlike.

Aren't vipers/pitbulls for that?

Not a problem, people can disagree with me if they want =). I'll happily add that snipers are quite fun these days. I'd build EMP spiders, zeus, snipers...Maybe rocket spiders for the all-terrain. Not a fan of the fatboy although he has been improved since last I used him.

One way ARM is beating back defensive lines is sniping it to death...I don't know about you but that doesn't suit my playstyle hehe.

If people really think arm kbots are fine the way they are, thats fine with me. I can still go vehicles or even core =). If the map is hilly enough I could make a case for arm due to the all-terrain kbots too.

So

If you click on the handy graphic, case 1 will probably not result in an intercept while case 2 probably will.

Personally I love nukes now. The ballence is just right between them and anti-nukes, and woe betide the person who forgets to cover his base (as my last opponent found out :) ).

Actually, they're not bad, but the Pitbull could use a buff. Right now, it has a lower DPS than an HLT! It does have a longer range, and is stealthy and cloakable, but has less HP when open, and takes more damage than a Viper when closed.

They seem to be most worthwhile if you plan to cloak them...

Do snipers still do 1300 damage to comms? Because I hit one 3 times when it had 0 exp and it lived...

Probably not. I think Snipers still take four hits to kill a comm.

Does anyone actually cloak their pitbulls?

No, but looking at the numbers, that's one of the main reasons for building them. And they're only 25 energy a pop and never move, so it's not like it's a major drain on your funds.

As a note, they are worth building over HLTs because of the additional range. I think that means they do more total damage to enemy units because of that, but I'm not sure how to acount for it, as speed doesn't seem to be measured in range units/second... Of course, Vipers are still significantly better, and are worth building instead of HLTs no matter how you slice it. Especially since you can build them with Freakers.

Edit: Whoops. Stupid typo.

I just noticed something interesting - the HLLT's two weapons are Arms LLT and Cores LLT. =P

The comms metalcost is kinda insane. if a bertha hits him, it will get perfect accuracy.

I a game with drone, both our comms got sniped by a lone bertha. It hit my comm once, then next hit dead on.
It then proceeded to hit drones comm twice dead on, killing it. Watching that bertha decimate our bases wasn't even funny. It hit dead on EVERY TIME.

Or maybe the comm should have been left alone now that the dgun overkill problem has been solved?
