I HAVE been to Canada, I have been to Seal Slaughter capital of the world, Prince Edward Island, to visit some bitch I used to bang there...
Seals are a little more aware of what happens then fish, I do agree that there is a large amount of overfishing.
I am from the Netherlands, a country that banned seal slaughter because they are endangered and I personally quite like the dogs of the sea as some call them, would you be okay if they OKed killing domestic dogs? I am sure you wouldn't like that...or if you don't like dogs, how about open season on all cats?
I don't give a crap about Fish besides the eco system, I don't particualary like lizzards for the most part and I don't like insects, I like animals who are a little more inteligent, THAT's why I also oppose seal slaughtering, I also oppose Wolf and Bear hunts, I don't give a crap about deer either, I don't feel sorry for cattle, I know I'm biased, but it's personal preference.
Canada is pretty close to being communist in my book, they stereotyped me and had to check me for drugs because I CAME FROM THE NETHERLANDS, I must have weed on me! oh suuuure....in my book that's a nasty case of discrimination.

I guess I do have to give Canada credit for not completely banning guns.

As a species we are pretty fuc*ed up, I realize some indigenous populations traditionally kill in that way, but its no longer an excuse to continue the practice, there are more humane ways to kill., and then there is the Whale issue re: Japan and its "scientific research" which requires the killing and shipping back to Japan of hundreds of Whales every year,, that├óÔé¼Ôäós one hell of a tissue sample,,
and then you have those Bears,, Moon Bears I think is one species that are surgically tapped for their Bile and left in a tiny cage for as long as they survive while Bile is collected in a container.

I don't care what you think of Canada, I'm certainly not a nationalist. You admitted that the only animals you care about are the ones that are cute, so any further discussion is pointless; You've made my point for me.
For the record, I too have a weakness for "cute" or intelligent animals. But that doesn't mean I'll get into an argument about something I know nothing about just because their appearance appeals to me. I probably wouldn't eat seal meat because it'd gross me out, same as I wouldn't eat dog or cat - I've been indoctrinated to think they are pets, not food, the same way that the opposite is true of eastern countries like China. But I've got no right to push my ideals on people in some other country that I know nothing about besides the fact that an ex-girlfriend lives there. Especially when those animals are a primary food source, not unlike cattle.

I would totally eat dog or cat or seal at least once, just to say that I have. I'm also a little curious, would they taste good?
And about Ground zero being checked for weed cause he's from the Netherlands, I think that is good, because it means that arabs aren't the only ones being profiled and it's nice to know that airport authorities aren't hypocritcal about who they profile.

Well, the cat/dog trade in china is a little different... Many of the animals slaughtered there are still wearing collars. It's pretty obvious that they just stole domesticated animals off the street.
I don't belive in killing pets for food because it's just stealing. That animal belongs to someone else, and no one has a right to take it. I know I'd kill in a second if someone was threatening my pets.

Well since people made comments and did not respect me not wishing to discuss this any further I am now inclined to respond.
Sure it aint communist, but I am quite pissed about the seal slaughter.

How do possums get around so much? Are there any countries in the world that aren't cursed with a possum infestation? I hate those things. I'd kill them just for the sake of killing them - nothing to do with wanting their hide or their meat, but because they're disease-ridden, vicious, and ugly. Kinda like spiders. I'm not afraid of them, I just sure love killin' em.
