Think I read it in some collection pocket years and years ago, can't remember when, but it was the first ting that came to mind reading this tread. It got a Hugo and Nebula. That could be a pretty good indicator, although I never read anything by picking it that way.
I just wanted short stories on my night stand to read before sleep.
Terry Carr is a name that comes to mind in that regard. He is sometimes described as an editor who had a knack for finding great (short) sf stories. That crumb should lead to cake.
I've dug around in my library (that's what I call the crates that hold all my old books
) for a specific title that came to mind but I cant find it. Maybe later...
