Unit request for xta

We are planning to add some new units to xta.

Heavy attack vehicle for core, a bit like a goliath but with multiple laser turrets (around 8 maybe) placed on the unit pointing in diferent direction and having limited fireing arcs.

MIRV launcher for core, mostly a core version of the raven kbot, instead of a rocket volley it will fire a two phase weapon, either a MIRV missile that will split into multiple warheads before impact, or a cluster grenade with balistic path that will explode into smaller pieces before impact. This can be either a kbot or a vehicle.
New weapon will be created when we have a unit to tinker with.


Since we have no unit creator on the team we are looking here for someone thats up for the task.
For the modell s3o is preferable, but anything that looks good is fine.

You're making 2 stage weapons possible? when does arm get some more love?

Nah, that'd annoy people (watch out for paulo morfeo particularly)

I'm thinking somethign like an incendiary device, that fires a projectile up like a palsma shot does, that then explodes when it's above the enemy rainign down fire and brimstone, like a weak weapon that lasts a while over a larger area, burnign away at units, so even if the unit gets blown up, the effect is still happenign afters its deatha dn the target may still be blown up tho ti cna still do damage.

can something like a weapon that fires when a unit dies be implemented? i think it would be cool to have like all the missles in the rack cook off when the krogoth blows up spewing unguided rockets all over for a second or maby when the BB blows up the reciver could go flying off the back and blow up independintly, not realy a unit requiest i guess but i thought it was a cool idea

What about a two stage mine that launches a pod that follows
the enemy after it explodes. A way to track enemies outside
your radar range.

firing multiple munitions simultaneously at the same target but with a time-delayed wobble-effect may work.

as interesting as all of this is, it doesn't help Yeha very much.

Have any unitmakers stepped up yet? I'm willing to help, but I'm a super-novice unitmaker..only one extremely buggy, and as yet unpublished unit thus far.

Yes people! Yeha's deal is we make him so cool enough models that fit his weapon placing parameters, and we get multi-stage weapons, or at least submunitions! Don't make me make the first submission, I'll tell you right now that it will be a box with 8 small boxes sticking out of it for turrets. Textured in flat grey. Or better yet, textured with a rainbow!

Ive almost completed a model. I have no idea how to script it, but its almost modeled. I just need to texture it, and whine to someone to script it for me.

Well, i'm always up for making new units, cluster weapons would be greatly appriciated! I can't wait to be able to mess around with it.

Kinda cool, but the turrets are to blockish... maybe they should be a litthe flatter?

I was thinking more of a mobile Doomsday machine with weaker (and more) lasers on it

It looks a bit of a squeese at the mo, Maby a multi direction turret on top that fires plasma rounds or other light projectiles, I know it'd break the laser request a tad but it does all look a bit space constrained.

Turret design, maby you could change from a block on a block to a side integrated turret, where you have half a cylinder in the side of the tank with the turret on that, as opposed to side mounted. possibly have it sweep out at the bottom in a cone shape for top viewing.

If you want me to draw it and email it to ya it shouldnt take more than 5 mins.

Here's where it's at, folks... got the model skinned, and all ready ... and ... sigh. It doesn't work. Go see the bug thread about this, and lend a hand... I will be more than happy to make another version that's more... like what people requested... if I can get the one I already made working...
