Some people are incapable of smiling though, even virtually.

where is it.
I said it before, I'll say it again, when I started it, I made it clear that I was only going to take it on as a TEAM effort. Which I had no team so I stopped. Since then quantum has taken it over.

Oh look things I have been doing which actually benifit the community:
feature placer
sandbox mode
map options

blah blah still more useful than these guys who are doing diddle..

BUMP!!
Anyone ever come up with anything? I was just working (the research part) on some theme work for chilli and came across this and it looks to have faded into offtopic...
Anyway I still don't have my coding where I'd like but I'm pretty nimble around GIMP with art assets, so I'm taking a minor break on lua and want to make things look prettier (hopefully). Is they're still any interest in updating BA/BAR's gui?

Just messing with themes a little (I'm in 0k for now, until I get to my desktop) and here's a quick snap, any thoughts?

I presume the main thing you are working on are the new frame borders? I don't think they are very "ba".

For now yea, I just want to get a look down. But I do agree I'm not even close to it yet, I'm just drafting . Any suggestions on style etc.?

I am hard pressed to make a suggestion. Part of me wants to tell you rip off the ta ui. Another part wants to suggest you do random paneling bits based on the TA teamcolor panels ba uses.

of course most ba players tend to be of the hardcore gaming groups... so maybe NO skin is a good idea for them. As hard core people want as little obtrusive detail as possible.

here's what inspired that shot (from earlier in this topic)

Yea I was thinking along the same line. Its very hard to make a war torn metallic type skin that's still unintrusive. But I was trying to kind of go for a simple look for the windows always on the screen and a metallic look for temporary menus/tooltips. I also have this in the back of my mind.

That old cremus hud is doable but no with those chili widgets. they would need to be heavily edited.

I figured as much, I've been looking in to them and when I get some time I'll see if I can come up with anything. Then whether or not I get anywhere I'll see if I can get anything looking good in BA.

I'm pretty sure I can do that, but if it give's me to much trouble I'll let you know.
Any particularly good resources I should read into before I dive head first into chilli?

It needs to be hard and metallic and high-tech. That means large contrast differences, gradients, glowy bits, edge highlighting.

since screens tend to get wider faster then they get higher i would like a ui that takes more space on the left OR right side of the screen preferably not both.

(yay for spamming demands and doing 0 work or usefulness)
