Graphic tablet question

Post by rattle »

Sup guys, pondering to spend some money on a graphic tablet. Since I'm not Richie Rich my budget is about $150/Ôé¼100...

So right now I've found two options:
a) Get a fucking wacom like everyone else. The Intuos4 model seems to be the only decent one now that the Graphite is out of production, the budget line looks like trash to me (i.e. no tilting, cheap pen etc.). Intuos are way over the the budget however.

b) Get a tablet from HANVON, the only other tablet manufacturer that offer these electromagnetic pens that I heard of. The specs of the low end products seem to be better than comparable Wacoms tablets, i.e. better resolution or pen nib lifetime etc.

I'm pretty much for the Hanvon GraphicPal 8x6 (A5). Price seems to be fair for the specs it has.

I've been reading mixed reviews on Hanvon tables and some pretty bad on the budget Wacoms. Anyone got some actual experience with either brands?

I've owned a lot of diffrent wacom tablets, intuos 3 M a4, bamboo, bamboo pen&touch and an intuos 4 S.

The touch part of the bamboo series is just a joke, and its pen part kinda had some pressure issues when at times when touching the surface it drew a big dot first and then continue with the proper pressure level.

The intuos 3 i owned was too large and expensive. So I'll say go for the intuos 4 S.

Sure it costs about 200 euros here but.... my wacoms were easily sold on ebay anyway. They have a high must-have-it factor.

I never heard of Hanvon though
