need ideas for new units for unit_spawner.lua
Chickens are getting overused (their model yo)
the TA units variant is boring (Yo Robot Defense)
Zombies are fucking overused no shit on almost all FPS and some RTS games there gives Zombies!
Aliens too and idk
well and this is why i start this thread i have no idea for my self but i would like to atleast making some models for the new idea

Hmm maybe somewhat between Modernity and Future on the Mod (March To Doom (yes lots of IP-Content due WTO base off but i hope i can get rid of it but may take a while for a 1-man project)
ATM planed only one Faction might expand this further
i have no idea what faction name it will be yes it will be humans with it

hm, still not quite sure what weapons etc. you will have. anyway, 2 ideas:
-clich├® 1950's aliens? grey dues in silver flying saucers, green beams sucking up units etc. i think in this way there are not done so often in games.
-giant insects (like chicken monsters but more realistic and modeld after real insects or spiders)
maybe think how the gameplay of the enemies should be:
-lots of spammy weak units like zombies etc?
-few big enemies like Godzilla?

Starship Trooper bugs are already in the works for another project... otherwise that would be awesome... well it's still awesome but if you do it now it would be copying.
What if you used ACTUAL chickens... or sheep and cows and such.
I like the dinosaurs idea... I like the godzilla idea too...
you could have them be "simulations" and just be the normal models from your game except rendered in wireframe (don't know how, I'm not technical when it comes to what Lua can do).
robots are over-used but what if they were robot animals like lions, tigers, bears/pandas, elephants, gorillas etc.
"Post-Appocoliptic-Red-Neck-Kit-Bash" like in Mad Maxx movies (sedans with armour plates and hood mounted guns)
White Spheres like in that spy movie that they always parody...
Creepy Crystaline creatures... like made out of gems or whatever...

cybernetic primates lead by a scientist in a giant king-kong mech...
Ducks, Bunnies, or other cute fluffy things.
Lizard Men... the point is to kill them not play as them right?

Copy Creeper World and just make the enemy liquid.

Remember the Replicators from Stargate? Do something like that- and if you shell them appart, they can reunite to complexer machineforms, trying to copy what destroyed them..
Also give the impression that they adapt (turtle-like-shieldformation against artillery) Mirrors against Lasers (Long-Leg-Variation) against Mines & Walls) So however you porc you are never save.
In Addition, make them change the landscape beyond the perimeter (doesent has to have a purpose, but If they transform the whole map into strange structures, the player feels like a nasty obsticle for a big building process)

there are prices attached to that, you dont want to pay.
And not everything sounding great as a idea, is fun gameplaywise - and&or worth the work to implementation..
Most of this stuff wouldnt even affect the player, except for the feeling of a enormous threat building up around you.the base of feeling.

ohm i think i forget to mention that i am
A) not a great cob scripter i am
and
B) neither lua
but i could model them and apply crappy textures and making them ingame somewhat
i could fake atleast the replicator thingy that is not hard just attach a weapon to it that gets activated when it dies and use the lua thingy for it wich exist

Gas Monsters! No modeling, no texture, no animation, just a point and a CEG, and it's totally original...at least in spring to my knowledge.
