Anyone else here used to play ta kingdoms? a friend i know just recommended some game to me called ta:spring and i was like hmmm that sounds farmiliar. and then i remembered hearing about it from axlerose a few years ago. Clan rx bitches

i remember playing it on gamespy arcade for aloooooong time. does axl still lurk the forums?

Apparently not enough people liked it, since cavedog went bankrupt. I tried it once or twice but fantasy just isn't my genre.

I've stumbled across quite a few traces of Kingdoms mods for Spring, but I can't verify that there was ever one available in playable form. If there was, in theory it should be a fairly easy task to go through and update it for the more recent engine releases. Keeping in mind that despite the task being 'fairly easy', it would likely take an unreasonable amount of time and energy, so I doubt anyone would be all that willing to give it a shot.

You can't port TA:K without basically redoing everything. TA:K units have missing face (those which won't show in TA:K view), transparent texture, special abilities, undocumented script calls, etc...

Best play Cursed, or help CairRepairer fantasy mod.

Wasn't the problem that Kingdoms wasn't made by Cavedog?

Kingdoms is based on the TA game engine, which at the time was considered hot IP, in those days if you wanted to buy them out, you did it for the engine, the TA IP was of little value.

Total Annihilation Kingdom was made by Cavedog, just not by Chris Taylor.

people expected ta:k to be TA. I found it to be great fun and it is still in my top 2 fantasy games.
