Oh no, not that meme again.

Come to think, you could just speak with memes, Caydr, and swap images, and then you'd have full editing rights.

No, what I'd really like is a return to normalcy. I've been stuck on this warpath for like 4 months now, basically ever since our newest moderators were appointed. I can accept that the rules have now changed from: "Nothing gets enforced, ever" to "Nothing gets enforced, ever, unless it does" but enough with the bullshit.

I got one of my topics locked for being "too controversial", almost the same day another guy proposed that the American government was preparing for the mass-genocide of its citizens, and backed it up with pictures of thousands of coffins and crazy conspiracy theory videos. Is it because of who I am that I'm held to a different standard?

Then I got banned for a month for the sort of thing that was an everyday sight when the forum started, and which Swiftspear has more than a few violations on his record for. A month. That's a crock, but ok.

And now I can't edit my posts, which is apparently a rational response to... oh wait, the offense in question demonstrably never took place. I got no notice of this being done and nobody else here even realized it had taken place. Aside from Beherith, apparently nobody else even knew it was possible to disable a user's ability to edit.

I would like accountability in moderation, so that when something is done, there is a record of when, why, and by whom, so that if the "disciplined" individual would like to know what he did wrong, he can actually confront his accusor - maybe ask, why did this happen, did you misunderstand, is this a new rule, etc. This stuff I've seen happening in the last few months has been bullshit on a scale I haven't seen in a long while.

Look at what Sinbad did to my post on page one, THAT is what I want. Reasons given, the name of the moderator PUBLICLY posted, and the message not deleted in its entirety.

And finally, if you're going to insist on this counterproductive punishment for an offense that never took place, I would like to know when my ability to edit my posts will be restored. I'll be the first one to back off and wave the white flag, even admit I was wrong even if I disagree with the punishment or the unequal distribution of punishment, but no more of this nonsense.

Whoever is currently the go-to guy, make some rules and actually follow them yourselves consistently even when it means punishing your buddy or a newbie or a developer.

Come to think, you could just speak with memes, Caydr, and swap images, and then you'd have full editing rights.
Argh, my respect for you just went from -3 to -2. But doing that would be wrong, however epic, and I'm not just here to flaunt the rules.

there is such a record. it's not publicly accessible.
at this point, one of the higher moderators will arbitrate on any case if you feel like making it more personal, or you can send a message to the entire moderation group.

this would be exactly the same if you asked the entire moderation group, except there's no chance for personal attacks or vendettas interfering with moderation

every moderator is accountable. just not to you.

I've restored your edit button (pm me if it's still not working somewhere).
take a good long look at the rules and be on your absolute best behavior. attempting to test the line of where will moderate will result in further discipline.

if you think a post or situation breaks the rules, click the report button. we see reported posts and do our best to respond. don't respond to someone else possibly breaking the rules with an attack - we'll moderate you both.

Thank you, I'm glad we could come to a mutual understanding. I hope that in the future more steps will be taken to make our moderation process more transparent and equally fair to all users. I will hold off on any further criticism until Neddie's ongoing policy changes are implemented.
