Yep. Don't bother charging people because someone else would do it for free and you're left in the dust. Go for ad revenue, and make the site look awesome. That's the best thing you can do.AF wrote:Your in real danger of someone comign along and implementing the core of your idea as a facebook application, providing them with a ready made userbase and a ready made platform to share/advertise.

Re: Lobster Network
I visited the site, and really without reading your long post about what your doing, the site really doesnt give much info, and i dont understand the whole lobster thing, i can see that when they all hold hands that it could look pretty hard to pull them apart... but really thats more security, and doesnt tell me what your doing.
It looks like a fail boat.
Advertisements could be good idea :]

Re: Lobster Network
How is this different from something like ebay?
I am not gonna use that place just to keep track of what I give or lend to someone...
Why would any business or individual use this?
What is the need this system fulfills that doesn't get fulfilled by other things that are already out?

Re: Lobster Network
This looks like a solution looking desperately for a problem to solve. I can't believe you'd get anybody willing to pay for a service like this since, as somebody else pointed out, you're not far away from a facebook app or similar.
Also, as has also been said, the whole 'lobster' theme doesn't make any sense.
