You don't have to take them away. I'd just like a transparency option please ^_^
there is already an option for that, open options and the on the 2nd bar (after settings) u could set the color of the boxes, minimize the background color -->transparent

Meltrax, if you're around we could really use a new version. The current version got totally slaughtered by BA6.91 and after restarting IceUI the buildbar won't come back on Satirk's fork.

Also if anyone has a "clean" copy of Satirik's default profile I could really use it.

It's working fine and exactly the same on the new BA as any other version. At least for me anyways...

el_matarife, you're probably mistaking IceUI for LolUI since it seems BA included it in one of the last releases.

IceUI seems to work just fine with the new BA.

This isn't related to Ice UI, but it's GUI related so you might be able to help.

Since the latest BA, 6.92, every game I play, the old default console is enabled and in use even though in the widget list it's shown as disabled.
To fix this, I have to enable it then disable it again at the start of every game.

I cannot keep it on because then I have Ice UI's console running over the top of it. How can I completely disable the old default GUI console?

Then there's probably a widget that enables it every time. I can't think of anything you can do apart from disabling/editing that widget or write one that disables the console every frame. :P

Heh, so a widget that turns it off, then another to turn it back on. Classy :D

Btw, have you thought about expanding Ice UI? I really love everything about it but there's still that sharing screen (H key) and the end game screen that look so ugly. Then there's the loaded players at the start of games.

Am I allowed to ask if you'll ever work on these things or if they'll be any updates for Ice UI in the future?

IceUI is in no way finished and it probably never will be. It's my hobby and whenever I have time and feel like it I work on it. As you can see I didn't have much time lately but every now and then I come back to it.

The share dialog is pretty much included in the player info window (clicking on the resource bars and on the logo for units) but the units part needs my share units widget. The other stuff would be nice though, yeah.

Apart from that I have quite alot of ideas I want to implement and I'm also curious what the other GUI projects will do. I'll probably continue working on IceUI though no matter how far the other projects come.

LolUI being turned on was causing IceUI to not load on my PC. Some sort of weird issue where I had to go through and enable the widgets in the right order. Unfortunately, IceUI still isn't making my build window all pretty, it looks like Spring default right now for some reason.

Also there's still some weird bugs with the player list. I'll get screenshots of both issues and post them in here in the next few hours.

Edit: Okay here's a screenshot
Image
As you can see, sometimes the player info window "rolls up" into the top right corner. The "What am I building" unit collection turns on even if turned off. Finally, the "build bar" for the construction unit isn't taking my IceUI settings.

That's probably the "Old BA Layout" that changes the build window.

That's a known issue and unfortunately not that easy to fix atm. As a workaround just delete the IceUI/unitcollections.lua.

Looks pretty weird, yeah. According to those player lists, that game was a commshare game. Is that correct? I don't have enough time though to investigate in-depth and that seems to be Satiriks mod. The sizing of the window is one thing he changed, so I would have to dig into his code.

Yes, I'm running Satirik's fork and yes, that was a comm sharing game. Unfortunately, I've seen the issue on regular games too and can get a screenshot of that if you would prefer. I could try a regular IceUI and see how that works. Anyway, "Old BA Layout" appeared to be necessary to get IceUI running again after LOLUI broke it. There's plenty of documentation of the LOLUI / IceUI conflict in a few threads I can link you.

The volume slider should work now with 0.79.0.2. The updater and Spring Downloader should work fine. If you're using Satiriks fork, just replace Widgets/IceUI/volume.lua by the one attached to this post.

I'm hearing from a friend (who doesn't want to register here) that the volume slider is broken again. Also I've been wondering how to change the opacity of the grey background? Is there an option for that? Or any way of turning it off completely?

Meltrac: change line 8

Code: Select all

local volume = Spring.GetConfigInt("SoundVolume", 60)
to

Code: Select all

local volume = Spring.GetConfigInt("snd_volmaster", 60)

I've been playing with my player window sizing issues and I've determined something keeps "snapping" it to zero height. I can "unroll it" but it just snaps back down at the beginning of the next game and finding the area to drag it down is fiendishly difficult. What's the config file variable for height of the player window? I've also noticed the "builds in progress" window keeps turning back on no matter how many times I've turned it off.

How do I get units to have that cool look in the OPs screenshot?

Also, is it possible to replace the various command buttons \ borders with better looking images? If it is, how?
