The real filesystem overrides any content files, without being hashed.

(ie. just extract the shaders from the archive and put them as normal files in spring dir/shaders)

Yeah sort your attitude out, it's not fun to read your attacks.

Its bad system tobi, if its used for maps too on battle list.

Yes, lobbies could use it to determine "sync" - but for published battle lists its pointless, it should be hash only from content itself.

Oh and while you are adding the mod hash you could also add engine version to battle.

add a custom field which will get broadcast and which lobbies can set to anything they like. will be useful for extending the lobby protocol without touching the server.

broadcast to all users ? could be used to spam ... could add a battle one which would only broadcast to players in the same battle ... or we need something different

it could be limited to say 1k per battle.. basically dictionary key + value for general use?

It could allow interesting extensions.

so 1 free command broadcasted to every players of the current battle and 1 free command to any player of the server ... for the size limit i think TASServer anti-flood protection is enough nope ?

maybe i could add a new kind of authorization to allow free command broadcasting to all players of a channel/server ?

No offense, but is this fighting productive?

If uberserver wasn't still basically vaporware, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. We'd be talking about how to improve uberserver instead.

you generally shouldn't call vaporware on a product you've used...

Now you know how every thread with both you and Smoth in it looks.

True 'dat.

Anyhow, it's not whether the concern's legitimate or not. I can't judge. It's just that this is pretty important stuff, so I don't get why people are behaving like this.

It's not that it's one guy or another, I'm not picking a side on this. I am sure I'm missing most of the context here. This seems like the last thing on Earth we should be fighting about, basically. And yet this seems to be the area of Spring where developers get twitchy, and frequently don't finish things because of intramural wars.

I was agreeing with you dude.

I agree with Argh also, i don't see a reason for the bitchyness on this subject, seems like people are just nitpicking at eachother to me.

Would be much better if the two server maintainers could possibly work together on one solution rather than be split over two servers? If not then just don't bother eachother hah. But seriously it would be better.

there is no server maintainer, aegis is making his server for years ... telling us every month it will be ready the next one ...

it was bloody ready and deployed.
it was only pulled because I didn't have enough free time to fix a critical bug.
