New mod - Recruiting!

I have to agree with FLOZi here, it doesn't look like a T-34 (especially not a T34/76, but that is understandable as you based it on a T-34/85 which does look different). The thing that really "kills" it is the turret, fix that and it will look much more like a T-34/85.
Oh, and I would claim that most tanks looks quite different from each other. Different version of the same tank already can have quite significant changes, the difference on the T-34/76 from different years of production is already quite significant for example.

Cylinders with less/more than 16 segments:
When you right click with nothing selected to get the drop-down menu, you may notice that almost all the shapes available have a box next to their name. For the cylinder, it lets you state how many divisions will be used.
I find "6" (a 3D hexagon) sufficient for barrels etc

One step ahead of both of you talking about the cylinders, I've been working on cleaning the T-34 and have reduced the number of faces on just about every part. It's down to a manageable 190 polys now in 3 objects (body, gun, turret).
I think I'll go to work on cleaning and improving the IS-2 before further messing with the T-34. Hopefully if I approach the T-34 with a fresh mind in a couple of days, I'll be able to further improve it to get it more "realistic".
Anyone have a suggestion for a good program for texturing? Yes, I know about the wiki and all of the wondiferous stuff on it, as well as the topic at the top of this thread... so if you're going to link me to one of those, please don't.

LOL this is awesome. Blast from the past! Bruce, whatever happened to 1943? Also, who stole who's name? I think we stole yours (Spring:1944).
Completely forgot about all of this until Nemo reminded me just now. I also didn't realize Eka_Bruce was you.
Man, Felix, those models were so terrible.. lol

This was way before we had lua, the first post was over 4 years ago! I had this huge idea of what it would be but when I started trying to put it into practice I rapidly hit brick walls every way I turned. I've rethought some of the ideas and am waiting the for the time to be available to learn lua so I can put them into something tangible, I'd like to think some of them are pretty neat. Maybe soon, maybe not. Don't worry about me trying to cut in on your market share though, i'm looking at a fairly contempory time slot.

Are you happy with S44 now?
There are much, much less units.

I'm loathe to insult you with the "Most Improved" award but it is definately getting better, just a pity I can't really try it out properly right now.SpikedHelmet wrote:Are you happy with S44 now? There are much, much less units.

Well, if you still have different ideas for gameplay you can make mutators and stuff for S:44 since we have a lot more assets now (lots of Russkie units, including lots that aren't even being used <_<)

Re: New mod - Recruiting!
Thanks but things have changed so much it wouldn't be appropriate to do it with ww2 technology, maybe later, I do have many plans.
