Pretty sure the big laser of dewm will be hidden behinid the 'spring engine' logo, and also, because it is quite light, will also clash with that logo as well?
My recommendation is to erase the sky (where possible) so that you have some of the website 'heading' colour coming through (assuming you have that underneath). Also, possibly run a sharpen filter on the spherebot?
Nicer, though the spherebot does seem slightly 'pasted on' rather then part of the shot that has just been emphasized to come forward slightly. You could argue the same for my pyro I guess.
Can I also suggest introducing a little bit of colour into the dewmlaser? Less then what's in the spherebot, but more then what is in the background, just to bring it forward a bit, as it's really cool but a little lost at the moment.
(I kinda think that screenshot would work much better as a frontpage larger banner, not a top banner, because the proportions of the shot is about verticality, while the banner is strictly horizontal...)
I kinda think the saturation on the muzzleflash should be reduced and darkened a little (perhaps even hue changed to website blue), as I think it is very dominant on the page, especially when it's seen in combination with the frontpage, it draws the eye immediately.
