Great news for everyone waiting for dedicated server/springie :)
Its now working...

Springies should self update to 1.20 and you need to get/build dedicated server.

Todo:
- make springie totally spring independent (no maps/mods or full spring install needed)

dedicated server is not autobuilt anywhere, you should package it with springie, at least for now.

It still crashes when a team self-destructs, but not on normal team death. /take is unknown, should be fixed

Great, /take doesn't crash it. Just instruct people to resign instead of self-destructing.

===============================
SPRINGIE 1.30
===============================
* removed dependency on spring and its maps/mods
* full linux compatibility (run with mono)
* added -nogui parameter - starts springie without GUI
* ModInfoBuilder.exe tool is used to generate mapinfo.dat and modinfo.dat with modoptions and detailed mod information.
Other information is auto downloaded from downloader server.
* added ability to autorehost to latest version of any mod
* can host any map and mod registered in p2p system
* removed !reload, maplink broadcast, check for spring executable and many other things
* !cbalance now only uses first tag as clan - instead of all tags
* if you !ring while game is running, only those not readied in-game will be rang
* !dlmap and !dlmod removed (not needed anymore)
* fixed ip address detection on IPv6 system
* fixed chat relay and quitting

Thx goes to Auswaschbar, Det and Lurker who made this release possible.
Dedicated server is still evolving and you should get latest version from buildbot/jobjol.nl

Note- fixed/random start positions only work if you have map,choose box works without map.

I added modinfo and mapinfo (generated from my maps and mods) to

http://springie.licho.eu/modinfo.dat
http://springie.licho.eu/mapinfo.dat

These files are needed because springie is now spring/unitsync independent.
It only needs those files and connection to P2P server to run. It can host newer versions of mods existing in modinfo.dat under condition that no changes happen to stuff like modoptions.

If you want to use random/fixed positions you need to give dedicated server the map.
