I wasn't suggesting the name be changed, it's just that (by accident, probably - I certainly hope it wasn't a Freudian slip, because that would be very disturbing.) the original load screen read thusly:

P.U.R.E.
Purify, Expand, Reclaim, Exterminate

Which do not match up as acronyms.

And isn't all that explained in the first few posts of the thread?

It was a screw-up due to being in a giant hurry, and it got fixed 9 months ago, lol...
mmm i remember that little model of mine, glad to see the remake getting used again. Looks awesome!
You made the original high-poly concept model that that design was originally based on? I thought that was just some random thing somebody found on the Internet, and I decided to copy really fast...

At any rate, presently it's just in my "working things" pile- a circus-like collection of experiments which I'll never release, because it's not a game in any meaningful sense. Don't expect to see it in a game any time soon, if ever.

Because the words "reclaim" and "unify" have specific meanings in the backstory.

For those of you not in the Betas, everything, from the music to the documentation to the art, references that backstory (with nods to games like Fallout and StarCraft, Paranoia and Silent Dark... references to movies such as Aliens and books such as Hyperion)... so no, I have no plans to change it, at this late date.

While I respect everybody's right to have opinions, I am just trusting my own judgment on this stuff.

Argh, the movie sold the mod to me.

Nice choice of music.

I think i've got about 4 new spring players from just passing your video around to a few friends.

This mod looks far classier than BA or Ca, and its not even a OTA mod :)

These scratches look pretty uh.. out of place. I'd overlay actual images of metal for a more natural look.

No reason not to use a metal overlay, they work fine with most materials.
